Frenchtown Wine Festival

Hey everyone! Since people are always looking for weekend events and good wine spots around the metro, here is a quick breakdown of the annual St. Charles Wine Festival (La Fête du Vin), which just wrapped up its latest run this past weekend. If you missed it, it’s definitely one to keep on your radar for next year!

The Quick Details:

  • Where: Historic Frenchtown in St. Charles (specifically along N. 2nd Street, around the 1200 block).
  • When: It takes place annually in mid-September. The most recent one was Saturday, Sept 19, from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
  • Cost: General Admission is usually $30 (gets you a souvenir tasting glass and access to the wine tastings). They also offer a VIP option for around $95 if you want an upgraded experience.
  • Rules: Strictly 21+ and it's a rain-or-shine event.

What's the vibe?
It’s hosted by the French Chapter of the St. Charles Sister Cities Program, so it has a great community-focused, cultural atmosphere. It's a lot more relaxed than some of the massive city festivals.

What to expect:

  • The Wine: A solid mix of local Missouri wines (great if you want to support regional vineyards) alongside a curated selection of international options.
  • Food & Shopping: Plenty of local food vendors and pop-up booths to browse while you sip.
  • Entertainment: Live acoustic music playing throughout the evening, plus live demonstrations from the Plein Air Riverfront Artists creating art on-site.

It’s a perfect excuse to spend a Saturday evening hanging out in Frenchtown. Has anyone else gone to this one or the VIP tent? How do you think it stacks up against the regular Highway 94 winery trips?
