South Elgin - Thornwood Neighborhood. Looking to move here, thoughts?

Hello!

Wanted any insight for the Thornwood neighborhood in South Elgin. We’re looking to purchase a home there.

We looked at Batavia, Geneva, and St Charles but the homes are nicer in South Elgin for our price range.

We’re an early/mid 30’s married couple
Currently pregnant with our first
Budget is around $700k (but ideally $650k)

Need help deciding between 2 used bikes - Bianchi Sport Dama or LIV Flourish FS1

Notes
-5’0 tall chick (Bianchi is 43 cm and LIV is XS)
-Mainly going to be used for suburbs riding, on pavement, light trails etc
- Bianchi is $400 & LIV is $300
- I’m currently pregnant but that’s not a huge factor in my decision but comfort helps
- Seller stated LIV needs air in tires but unaware of any other issues

Bianchi looks cooler lol and has a few accessories but according to ChatGPT Liv is more comfortable and “better suited” for me

Would appreciate any insight on pros and cons. I can’t post pictures

Thank you 🙏🏻 I’m new to all this so what to make the right call

Bike size and recommendations for 5’0 female rider.

Will mostly be used on paved roads and trails riding around the suburbs. Would love an option to attach a carrier/cart for kids. Currently pregnant and in the process of buying a house so the “low” cost options preferred please, been looking on FB marketplace for used ones.

I’ve been reading 43 cm is a good size? But seeing conflicting info. New to this world so any insight helps!

Edit: Saw a Bianchi sport dana Celeste for 43 cm on sale, would this be a good option for me?

Hello!

Feel in love with a house in Addison but from what I’ve been reading the area doesn’t seem to be that great compared to other suburbs. I looked up the school districts and older Reddit posts and it seems like the area is declining

We have a budget of around $725k and we’re looking for somewhere to move outside of Chicago. Love unique houses but looking for something move in ready or minor fixes (currently pregnant). If Addison isn’t great, any other suburbs within 1.5 hours of Chicago?

Thanks everyone!
