Used car off of fb marketplace or parents car???

Hello everyone,

I’m currently in hs as a senior and need suggestions on what to do about getting a car. My parents have been reluctant about getting me a car since I go to college in one year and probably won’t need one but it’s been kind of nuisance in multiple ways. So my 2 options I have (if I convince them) would be to

A. Get my dads car (like 90k miles on it)

Pros: I am familiar with the car in terms of how it drives, it doesn’t have some underlying problems and you don’t have to go out your way to search for something

Cons: My dad is driving a lot(400+ miles a week, this would change to much less tho after I finish hs) so if he got a new car it would get beat up a lot. Getting a new car, especially the one he is looking at, is expensive.

B. Find a cheap car on fb marketplace (max 15k?, could fluctuate if that would help)

Pros: Cheap, won’t get that much depreciation, won’t have to worry as much if something happens to it

Cons: Risky, not sure how it works and what to do, complicated and the car would be worse than what I would get from A.

Honestly anything helps even if it’s suggesting something completely else. Thanks you

Business economics major

I have a couple of questions about this major.

How is this major? Is it easy? Are the job prospects good and if not are there minors or other majors you recommend to have?

College major help

I’m planning on majoring in either business economics (I’ve heard it’s just business administration w specialized in economics) or statistics on a pre med track and am wondering which would be the best fit for me. I have pretty equal interest in both and am more curious about the difficulty for gpa and job opportunities you can get with the major. Med school is my priority (70%) but would still like a solid back up if I change my mind without hurting my chances too much for medicine. (Most likely at OSU)

If you know anything about either of the two could you please lmk what you think. Thank you 🙏

Help me figure out my major

Hello everyone! I’m a rising senior and am currently looking to finalize what I plan to major in college and would like for some guidance on my major.

I plan to be pre med since my favorite classes have been anatomy/biology. However, I don’t necessarily want to major in common pre med majors such as biology or neuroscience just because it has pretty bad job prospects if you don’t go/get in to medical school. Also for me it’s a bit overkill since a lot of the classes, especially at the higher level, are very specific, not really applicable and not necessarily for med school. Anyways, Ive been pretty solid in math and am interested/good at chess. I like business and overall the fundamentals of how money works/moves. I’m also pretty social if that helps.

I’m still yet to take calc bc, organic chem, comp sci an and Econ(taking senior year) so my major could vary based on what I like.

For majors, I would prefer a somewhat easier of a major since obviously I still have pre reqs and other volunteering stuff. I would like a major that is a bit technical and where you could get a job out of college. I know there isn’t a “one shoe that fits all”but want something that tries to encompass all of this. Here are some of the majors I’ve looked into/thinking of.

Mostly thinking of: Economics, business economics, statistics, industrial engineering, biomedical science, public health

Random ones that don’t know much about: Construction systems management, food science, human nutrition, bme or biological engineering.

(I know some of these are different then my preferences/ completely random but I want to provide some possibilities and here your input)

If you know anything about these majors or can provide any help I would really appreciate it if you could let me know. Thank you.🙏

Industrial Engineer Pre med?

Hey guys, I’m currently a rising senior and am interested in majoring Industrial Engineering on a pre med track, probably OSU or UC(maybe others those are just probably the best bc of instate). I’m interested in both paths the same, maybe medicine slightly more, but am not sure what I will think of it after college, so I would love to keep my job options open since a typical pre med major like biology doesn’t have great options out of college. For a bit of info about me, I should have around 6 APs that apply to the classes I would take. I got a 35 on math act and have been always naturally good at math however struggled this year in AP physics 1 (I’m not 100% if this was my fault since my physics teacher was bad but just throwing it out there). I think I would like Systems/Industrial engineering because it can be applicable to a bunch of industries, I’ve heard it’s easier than typical engineering majors and I have a interest for learning about systems/optimization.

Also for those unfamiliar, UC is 5 years and has co ops so I would have a bit more time w getting experience.

Anyways, I have a couple of questions and would highly appreciate it if someone could help/guide me on this.

  1. Is it possible, and how common is it to have a high gpa (3.7+) for this major.

  2. Are there any other paths that could be better than IE

  3. Have you heard of engineering pre meds and if u know how have their experiences been?

  4. Anything help or knowledge you know about stuff?

Thank you for taking the time to read all this I know it’s kind of messy and random but would like to hear your opinion or feedback on this.
