I purchased the 1 bedroom condo my husband and I were previously renting just before we got pregnant. We are not really in a position to move at the moment, and our current living situation is convenient and comfortable aside from the lack of extra space. We are hoping to finally buy a house next year. Baby is due in August and we are planning on having a bedside bassinet, crib, and changing area in our large bedroom. While most of our family members and friends don’t see this as an issue (as the baby would most likely be sleeping near us for the first few months anyway), some have had more surprised or negative reactions. It’s obviously not ideal, and I am a little sad that I am not setting up a beautiful nursery for the baby like some moms I see online. Has anyone shared a room with their baby and what was it like? How did you set up your space?

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in August, and one of the only first names we have both been able to agree on is Gwen. I love that it’s not common (at least where we are) and gives off a ‘cool girl’ vibe to me. We haven’t really agreed on longer versions of the name (i.e. Gwendolyn, Gwyneth, Guinevere). I do appreciate a short name that can’t be given any weird nicknames. I’m just worried that maybe my daughter will wish she had a longer or fancier name. What do you think of the name Gwen?
