Just bought my first ds! Its a Ds XL, anny suggestions? Its my first time owning a handheld and i know nothing about this kinda stuff, should i have bought a 2ds/3ds/ ds lite, etc

I just bought a second hand dsi XL, i never owned a ds before, what are some thinks i hould know about? (Ps, i want to mod it akd play pokemon, duh)
