hi all, I’m usually super good with my PrEP. i was taking it daily for years and then switched to 2-1-1 after I finally ’trusted the science’ (it just didn’t feel like enough pills for such a big deal in the beginning!) I had great success with that for a long time.

anyways, last weekend I took 2 pills Friday at 430pm. had sex at 1am ish Saturday. completely blanked on the second dosage until it was about 9 hours late. immediately took 2 pills then (130am, so actually 24 hours from the sex). I finished the next day with the 3rd pill at 430pm. needless to say I’m freaked out about that time lapse before the second dose. I called the health department in Amsterdam where I get my PrEp and they said that since I completed the package within the 24 hours, I was adequately covered by the prep in my system, so no PEP was not necessary/recommended.

is that the latest in PrEP science these days? am I actually good to go or maybe the counselor didn’t understand my scenario? anxiety run wild. just trying to figure out if I’m gonna be fine?
