To be clear, I like tadc. I’m not a die hard fan, but I don’t think it’s a bad show. I just think it lacks in certain areas. I watched the finale a day or two ago and it was giving me major one vibes. Anyone else feeling it?

So basically me and this other guy met on a game show where we competed to win a private island. It was a square mile of paradise with leafy trees, a pool and hotels all worth a trillion dollars. We ended up being a firey duo and made it all the way to the finale where he ended up winning! He let absolutely everyone else who competed into the island with him except for me! I was angry so I called the producer of the show and bought the island from him, kicking everyone out. Now they’re all chasing me for “stealing” the island but I don’t deserve this! I’m literally so nice! The nicest person on the planet!

I immigrated to a remote island some time ago and have had a hard time adjusting. One night a series of misunderstandings and clumsy mistakes led to me getting chased through the woods by a bear. In my escape attempt I tripped and tumbled down a hill, crashing onto the home of a single mother.
When I landed on top of her I didn’t quite understand what had happened (I was still new to the environment) but I quickly realized that I had accidentally killed her. I then saw she had a son. He started following me around and eventually I decided to take him in and raise him the best I could. I later learned from a friend that he had a physical disability and likely wouldn’t survive infancy. I was very protective of him and he ended up growing to act in a very similar manner to me.
In an effort to get him some local friends at a swim meet, he ended up being assaulted by a group of kids and a fish and I had to rescue him. I ended up pretty hurt but he wasn’t harmed. In the aftermath a kid blurted out how I wasn’t his bio mom and how I killed his real mom. We went home and he wanted to know the truth. I told him about the accident and he was furious. He told me it shouldn’t up to me whether or not that information would’ve been “beneficial” to him. He said I wasn’t his real mom and stormed off.
Some of my friends say he was in the wrong for that, but others say it’s a lost cause and I should love back to my birth place.
Was I the jerk for hiding that information from my son?

Hello friends! I’m a member of the TMNT community which is 42 years old if I’m not mistaken. As a new fan of this media, I was curious to hear from the perspectives of other people whose main fandoms might also be fairly old. How do you feel being in the fandom? Do the older fans treat you with the same respect they would anyone else? How did you get into your fandom? Pretty much just lore dump!
For me I got into tmnt a little over a year ago and have watched all the way through multiple shows and read through many comics. Although some fans can be purist about specific iterations being the best and only best iteration (mostly 87 and 2012 purists) the high majority of the fandom love almost every incarnation and are pretty cool with everyone.
I just wanted to share my excitement that this subreddit exists!!! I love TOTTMNT
