If doing Field day, what Radio/Antenna will you deply?

Just curious how others plan to opperate and how will you be logging?

Our club has a pavillion reserved for the weekend and permission to stay overnight.

I plan on taking my 991a, 710, an EFHW (to hang from a tree, in a park in town) and a portable dipole from Alpha Hextenna. Not sure about logging, will get there early, set up my laptop and try N3FJP (registered) and WRL (World Radio league).

Not sure how those will work to log my contacts under the club call, pretty sure they are setup for my own call sign.

If nothing else, we will all have a paper log/clipboard.

Lowrider show next weekend at Indiana State Fairgrounds?

  1. Anyone from here going or showing?

  2. How safe is this show/area? Family safe?

The wife and I are thinking about driving over from SE. Missouri.

I've loved Lowriders since I was a kid and never had a chance to go to an actual lowrider show.

I think it's be cool AF..

Questions about charging batts?

Ive never really seen much info or how toos on charging...

Ive neen into lowered trucks (and Gbody cars) and multi battery car audio systes for decades, but they were all 12-14.6v all wired in Parallel to increase amperage and capacity. Not series for higher voltage.

I"ve also always used Mech man high output alts, to charge big XS Power batts, which always worked great too keep my system topped off and being able to bump systems with 2000-6000 watts as long as I wanted. Even long trips, bumping most of the way....

I never see lowrider folks talking about high output alts.

Would a High output alt, not ecen be of use in this scenario?

How do you keep your batteries changed?

Doesn't seem practical to spend a few hours with several chargers, charging up the batts, to go out an cruise for a bit, hit the spot, gettin active on the switches for a session, then they run down and you have to gimp home... So I feel like im really missing a few things...

Can ya'll educate me on a 4-8 battery set up ???

Take it easy on me, most folks don't just wake up experts on this stuff... :)
