What do you actually think could happen in the next 10 years?

So, was on a walk and begun to reflect about everything that's happening. You guys are the last people who I have to describe the current events and how it's impacting everyone.

I have to say, my empathy levels are now at an absolute low. I am exhausted. Again, I don't need to tell you in which ways, I think you already got it.

This seems to be growing among Canadians rapidly. I think the government is completely underestimating the instability factor but also the power vacuum that can happen. I feel ignored.

What do you think will happen in the next decade?

Part of the reason im moving, is to get away from aunt/uncle expectations

I love my neices and nephews. I think theyre amazing kids and my siblings are raising them right.

Im also going to be honest- I do not feel that *oh my gosh this is incredible nephew/niece* energy.

I see other people flocking to buy the best gifts, playing with them constantly, showing up to all their events (baseball, swimming, after school).

I have tried to drop in to visit many, many times. Then when they are finally up for company, I am not. I then get the side eye.

Its frankily exhausting but what makes it exhausting is all these unsaid expectations.

My niece is having a birthday. She's very young and frankily, her parents have said themselves that she doesnt need anything. They have all toys, books, etc. Just show up to the party. No problem.

I then was told by other relatives to get something and then told not to worry about it. Then I got told off this morning for being "selfish".

They're 5. if you could see the mountain of items they have- this is insane.

I just... I am so tired of being alluded to what a disappointment I am because I dont go beyond.

Obviously, going to go get a gift but pretty sick of this.

Probation to continuing... whats the actual likelihood of success?

Been offered a probation contract. Would have to move across the country. I'm pretty confused about the rules in Alberta.

In the east, it's pretty simple. You have your permanent built into your probation. So if you pass probation, you're then made permanent and get first pick for jobs and have security. You can switch schools, etc.

The rules explained out west are confusing.

I've been told if I get probation and pass, it doesn't really matter because there might not even be a job for me. So I can get good probation marks but then be sent back to the sub pool? And out west they fail people on their probation pretty often?

Then if I want a continuing contract, I have to find an open continuing contract (I'm confused how they're labelled- out east, it always has 'permanent' attached to the posting) to convert the probationary?

I have a difficult assignment offered which would uproot my life. I'm just afraid, I won't pass probationary, I'll pass but get cut or I'll pass but be unable to find a continuing contract. This is in an inner city.

Can someone help me understand or tell me how risky this move could be?

Still nothing despite multiple offers in the past.. any advice to get into China? or Australia? Or any other suggestions?

Hold a b.ed, several years of full time domestic experience as well as international.

In years prior, even when I was fresh out of university, I had several call backs for interviews.

My resume is stronger than ever and nothing.

Looking to get into China (I'm alright with tier 2/3 cities) at a bilingual school (international is obviously great too), considering Australia and just open to other locations.

I teach primary/elementary. Even suggestions to make myself more competitive, I'd appreciate. I'm starting a masters this Fall in literacy development.

So, how have things actually been for you? Feeling stuck... for the last 5 years.

Just wondering if anyone else is going through what I am. Certainly, we're all feeling the economic pressure.

I put my back into getting my education, getting something in demand, working like a dog- often in rural, isolated Canadian locations. Then with the cost of living, I had to move home and home isn't anywhere paticualrly social. There isn't jobs here, there isn't dating.

I know this has been said time and time again but with the combination of everything- is anyone else experiencing like... their life hasn't really progressed in the last few years?

Quit mid year after multiple crazy classes and now regretting

Taught back to back crazy classes. Got a lot of positive feedback and renewals. Behind the scenes, my physical and mental health was going down the drain.

Got another extremely difficult and violent class. I left. Felt like this was all education was going to be and I gave everything. After another health episode, I left.

Few months later, I went back to subbing and have really been enjoying it. All the classes I have taken are doable. It is shocking.

I left a contract early and just need to know how to recover? Im open to moving provinces and go international.

Did I end my career as a school teacher?

Seeking Advice: Canadian Teacher Considering Australia

Hey guys, I have two questions.

I'm Canadian, been teaching domestically for several years and considering going to Australia. Want to advance my career but honestly, experience Australian culture/be a more active participant in my own life. I'm primary/elementary and trained secondary.

Generally, people immigrating to teach in Canada aren't held in a great regard unless they're going to a super isolated region just due to sheer volume of teacher and competition/no actual outside need.

I would be looking to teach an hour outside a populated area (100k).

Wondering if:

a. You recommend refraining from pursuing this

b. If finding a position an hour outside a major hub is really practical (in Canada, it's a fight)

c. Any words of advice/your two cents

Thank you

31 [M4R] Canada/US - Looking for some connections

Hello, just looking to connect.

About me: I've lived in several countries, am Canadian and spend a good chunk of time sketching, painting, listening to podcasts (economics, current events, future predictions, tech, history), watching documentaries, going to events, going to the gym (almost daily), trying new things and in general, completing my bucket list. I lean conservative, work quite a lot and as said, want to meet some like minded people.

I'm 5'3 under, blonde, normal to low bmi, and have never been married, no kids, no outstanding ex, or crazy back story or anything like that. I have been working for the last several years in rural/isolated communities and have met few people I feel strongly about. I am on the spectrum but very high functioning. My friends and family say its usually non-detectable. I do have long standing special interests.

I'm comfortable trading photos, verifying my identity and if we get along, meeting.

I will be in Florida/Georgia/Carolina's/Washington in July.

I am looking for specific sorts of people, so I apologise if it offends anyone. If the physical description doesn't match, I'd still like to hear from you if you feel we'd get along.

About you: Intelligent, curious, and kind. I tend to favour people who are kind of spectrum-ey too? People who maybe lean more blunt, introverted and masculine.

I do unfortunately have a type and wish I didn't. I tend to prefer darker features, conservative style (short hair, no piercings), and bonus for moustache or glasses.

I'm small so height requirements aren't really a thing. I'm also not hung up on your particular situation as long as you're single, monogamous and can provide for yourself.

If you're looking for something long-term and think we'd get along, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself. Thanks.
