My ex-girlfriend and I broke up over a year ago. It was a long-distance relationship, it was a mutual decision, and even though it hurt me a lot at that moment, I accepted it and moved on.

Then, after about 7–8 months without talking, she suddenly messaged me saying sweet and affectionate things, telling me she was thinking about me, sending me kisses, etc. The weird part is that I have a new girlfriend now and she has a boyfriend too, so I honestly don't understand why she was acting that way.

After that, she disappeared again and honestly, it didn’t affect me much. But now, months later, she started liking my old photos on Instagram.

I have nothing against her and I'm genuinely happy in my current relationship, so it doesn’t bother me in that sense. It just seems annoying and confusing. Why do some exes do this? Can someone explain it?

Mi exnovia y yo terminamos hace más de un año. Era una relación a distancia, fue una decisión mutua y, aunque me dolió mucho en ese momento, lo acepté y seguí adelante.

Luego, después de unos 7–8 meses sin hablar, ella me escribió de la nada diciendo cosas dulces y cariñosas, diciéndome que pensaba en mí, mandándome besos, etc. Lo raro es que yo tengo una nueva novia ahora y ella también tiene novio, así que sinceramente no entiendo por qué actuaba así.

Después de eso, volvió a desaparecer y sinceramente no me afectó mucho. Pero ahora, meses después, empezó a darle “me gusta” a fotos antiguas mías en Instagram.

No tengo nada en contra de ella y sinceramente soy feliz en mi relación actual, así que no me importa en ese sentido. Solo me parece molesto y confuso. ¿Por qué algunos ex hacen esto? ¿Alguien puede explicarlo?
