Why Safari should show more love to the triassic fauna

Safari Ltd needs to give more attention to the Triassic because this period holds major prehistoric creatures that do not get enough attention compared to Jurassic and Cretaceous animals. A new set would fill a big gap in their popular toy series,

Sure, they have featured a few species like Postosuchus, Nothosaurus, and desmatosuchus etc, but at the same time.....they don't entirely get that much love and overshadowed by iconic dinosaurs in the prehistoric line.

The Triassic period features bizarre, non-dinosaur animals like armored phytosaurs, tank-like dicynodonts, and gliding reptiles. Popular media focuses on dinosaurs because blockbuster films and simple narratives favor them, overshadowing the diverse, experimental ecosystems that existed before dinosaur dominance.

So technically in my personal opinion they should create and start with a few toob sets that focuses on the fauna of the triassic while creating a majority within the prehistoric world line in order to give them the proper marketing.

But anyways, what do yall think ?

How Come Safari Never made a toob representing the Permian creatures

Safari Ltd has focused its prehistoric toobs on popular themes like general dinosaurs, ice age mammals, marine reptiles, prehistoric crocs/sharks and Cambrian life, leaving out a dedicated Permian period tube. Instead of a full set, they included a Dimetrodon inside their standard dinosaur toob rather than grouping Synapsids and other Paleozoic animals into a separate release.

As we know.....Dinosaurs and Megafauna sell much better to the general public than lesser-known Paleozoic groups since they're iconic and have been shown in many media, but at the same time, it still seems unfair, mind you....fauna of the paleozoic existed longer before the dinosaurs and megafauna which makes them the oldest creatures that ever walked the earth.

Soooo If Safari Ltd made multiple toob sets dedicated to Permian creatures, it would fill a major gap in prehistoric toy lines, Correct the common misconception thay will delight paleo-enthusiasts, and expand educational play beyond standard dinosaurs.

In all honesty, Muto Prime Should have been the Main Villain in Godzilla 2014.

The reason why I say this is because.....Making MUTO Prime, the main villain in the 2014 movie would have raised the stakes by introducing an ancient, apex predator that specifically hunts Godzilla, This would make the conflict feel much more personal and dangerous than just fighting two regular, swarm-style MUTOs.

Instead of introducing a random mating pair in Las Vegas and San Francisco, an female muto evolving into a Prime while causing devastation shows a terrifying, singular endgame for global dominance, streamlining the lore, and would ground the parasitic life cycle directly into a single, evolving threat and prevent the confusing timeline gaps that required supplemental comics like Godzilla: Aftershock to explain,

This personalizes the ancient rivalry between the Gojira species and the Jinshin-Mushi line, framing it as a direct clash of ancient alpha rivals rather than a subplot about a couple trying to breed and creates a more focused, unstoppable juggernaut compared to splitting screen time between two separate adolescent MUTOs.

So, eliminating the separate mating pair removes the confusion around differing reproductive methods (spores vs. large live nests) shown in the 2014 film and avoids a separate post-movie graphic novel villain that fans would not have to debate whether graphic novel events cleanly fit into the live-action movie or tv series timeline.....which the graphic novel comic Godzilla: Aftershock would not have needed to invent a hidden Prime antagonist later.

I know some might disagree but hey it's just my opinion 🤷

What are yall thoughts or opinions on Terra Nova's fictional Dinosaurs and Fauna ?

Personally, I actually adore these guys because it's actually creative and unique to create new non species rather than reusing the ones that are known in reality, in my opinion 🤷.

Why Safari Ltd should create more cryptid figures

Safari Ltd should create more cryptid figures because the current Cryptozoology only scratches the surface of global folklore, and expanding the line taps into massive collector demand, sparks creative education, and explores endless regional legends, Cryptids offer a fun gateway to teach kids about biology, zoology, folklore, and the difference between science and myth.

Besides, there are hundreds of regional legends—like the Chupacabra, Jersey Devil, Thunderbird, or Mokele M'bembe remain unrepresented in the brand.....Fans love monsters, and adore Myths that becomes popular standalone figures, which proves there is an active market hungry for more than just the original seven creatures of legends.

So technically creating more cryptid figures allow Safari Ltd to blend realistic sculpting craftsmanship with folklore. Expanding beyond standard wildlife and dinosaurs taps into a passionate collector market while fueling creative, open-ended play for all ages.

What if Silverback films made these films before the dinosaurs (2026) back then ?

If Silverback Films—the modern masters of high-end natural history storytelling behind The Dinosaurs and Life on Our Planet—had produced the classic 2000s giant-screen 3D documentaries (Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure, Flying Monsters 3D, and Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia), those nostalgic giant-screen films would be transformed into cinematic, state-of-the-art blue-chip television or streaming event.

Collaborating with top-tier visual effects houses (similar to their work with ILM on The Dinosaurs), the CGI would match the physics, musculature, feather/skin textures, and dynamic movement of living animals.....which would have made these films classic treasures of paleo media 💯🔥

But hey, this is just my opinion 🤷.

Why is it a possibility that Silverback films could create speculative evolution projects ?

Silverback Films is well-positioned to create speculative animal documentaries because they have mastered blending cutting-edge visual effects with scientific storytelling in projects like Life on Our Planet and The Dinosaurs. Their expertise in tracing macro-evolutionary arcs allows them to naturally extend their narrative style into speculative evolutionary future projects, whether for Dragons, Creatures Of Tomorrow, Cryptids, or Subterranean Fauna.

It is a compelling idea that Silverback Films could pivot toward speculative or pseudo-biological documentaries because their recent landmark projects like Life on Our Planet and [The Dinosaurs] have perfected the blend of high-end CGI with traditional, David Attenborough- or Morgan Freeman-style natural history framing. Having mastered grand evolutionary arcs and photorealistic extinct fauna in partnership with Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), branching into speculative ecosystems feels technically and narratively adjacent.

Groundbreaking mockumentaries like Dragons: A Fantasy Made Real or The Future is Wild established a clear template for treating unreal creatures with strict biological plausibility....which is a good way to show tracing the multi-million-year rise and fall of life creating a natural narrative bridge into future or fantastical ecosystems.

But for now, it all depends on the outcome and the decision from the studios 🤷.

Am I the only one who thinks that Bakugan Battle Planet /Legends would have been better in the style of Max Steele Or Hot wheels ?

Don't get me wrong....I like the shows but at the same time I feel the style could be so much more.

If Bakugan Battle Planet/Legends style changed to look and move like Max Steel or Hot Wheels Battle Force 5, the show would become a high-octane sci-fi action series. Plus, i think the core Bakugan plot would shift from card-game partners into massive, high-tech biomechanical interdimensional beings waging a gritty, real-time ground war across Earth (similar to transformers and kaijudo) without any game rules or trading cards.

Combat would rely on heavy metal impacts, sliding drifts, laser blasts, and brute physical force instead of standing still to play a magic card or shout attack names as there are no tournaments, brawler rankings, or referee devices which makes Bakugan are independent alien combatants who view Earth as a strategic battlefield or collateral damage.

Tho they would still have a bond with the humans and treat each other as close partners but in a different approach as they team up to save the world.

Anyways this is just an opinion 🤷.

Which designs would be suitable for the live action film...Original, Metallic, Nova or something completely new ?

u/Carnoraptor770 — 14 days ago

Why would it have been better for the dinosaurs to have 14 episodes instead of 4

If Silverback Films expanded their hit Netflix documentary series The Dinosaurs from 4 episodes to 14 episodes, it would allow a deep-dive chronological and ecological exploration of the Mesozoic instead of a fast-paced overview. Rather than condensing 165 million years into four thematic blocks (Rise, Conquest, Empire, and Fall), an extended 14-episode structure could dedicate individual hours to specific geological stages, distinct regional faunas, and specialized niches.

Audience would have seen many chapters revolving around the dinosaurs history throughout the early, middle, and late time periods as the show offers more runtime and allowing focus on Paleozoic precursors, Triassic underdogs, island-dwarfism isolates, and polar dinosaur adaptations rather than repeating the same standard story that occurs in paleo docs.

Even if the studios went with this direction, I do see them giving 3 chapters for the triassic, 5 for the jurassic, and 6 for the cretaceous......but sadly they only sticked with 4 but it's still a possibility that the series could get another season that features more dinosaurs but it depends on the studios decision and choice.

Why is it a possibility that Kaitlyn Dever's character could be the little girl from 2014 in Supernova ?

Like think about it....there is a strong possibility that Kaitlyn Dever’s character in Godzilla x Kong: Supernova (2027) is connected to a childhood flashback, and as we know the production has officially cast child actress Harriet Joyce to play "Young Jesse", confirming that the film features flashbacks to her childhood.

The original Godzilla film took place in 2014. Given the franchise's progression, a child witnessing the 2014 attacks would realistically be in her mid-to-late 20s today—perfectly aligning with Dever's actual age and the age of her character where she is devoted to work at monarch in order to study and understand titans due her long time fascination with them.

Though her explicit identity as the specific little girl from the 2014 Godzilla airport scene has not been officially confirmed by Legendary Pictures.....so for now all details have not been clarified and we'll just have to wait and see the outcome 🤷.

Why Prehistoric Predators should have been a series that focuses on Predators of different eras ?

As we already know.....the original National Geographic series Prehistoric Predators concentrated exclusively on Cenozoic mammals and marine giants like Smilodon and Megalodon. Sticking to one slice of time leaves out major chapters of biological history,

If a documentary like Prehistoric Predators featured non-avian dinosaurs, it would shift focus from Cenozoic mammalian hunters like Smilodon and Entelodont to Mesozoic terror icons like Tyrannosaurus rex or bizzare beasts of the paleozoic like Gorgonopsid. The show would change and expand.

Expanding the scope of Prehistoric Predators into a multi-era series featuring dinosaurs and Paleozoic creatures would have provided a complete evolutionary history of Earth's apex hunters, Comparing saber-toothed mammals to earlier sabertooth-like synapsids or carnivorous dinosaurs highlights how nature solves hunting challenges similarly across eras.

The series would focus beyond Cenozoic beasts as It would showcase diverse ecosystems, prevent repetitive storylines, and highlight how apex predators of different timelines use their strategies continuously adapt across hundreds of millions of years.

What If safari created figures based on creatures of hollow earth ?

If Safari Ltd released premium figurines based on Hollow Earth creatures, it would expand their brand, delight monster collectors, and blend realistic sculpting with fantasy......this idea test new ground and expands by Bridging the gap between real ancient life and cinematic monsters.

Sculptors could invent bioluminescent traits, subterranean adaptations, and bizarre anatomies free from fossil constraints since it leans more into fantasy than strict natural history,

Creating non-prehistoric Hollow Earth figurines would expand Safari Ltd into speculative zoology, blending sci-fi subterranean biology with their existing mythical and realistic lines.

So if the company created a premium line of speculative "Hollow Earth" figures focused on a new species of animals, it would expand into imaginative subterranean biology, featuring a new group mega-fauna, giant crystal-invertebrates, and bioluminescent predators.....but all that depends on their choice in the future 🤷.

In all honesty I think the dinosaurs would have been better narrated by keith , david

Don't get me wrong, Morgan Freeman is a talented voice actor, but Keith David is a legend 👏 🙌,

Keith David possesses a deep, operatic baritone that effortlessly fills a room, making apex predators and majestic herbivores of the series sound genuinely terrifying and awe-inspiring.....His delivery would've captured visceral tension and tragedy, making the rise and fall of ancient dynasties feel like a grand epic event.

Keith David would bring unmatched theatrical gravitas, booming resonance, and intense dramatic weight to prehistoric sequences, elevating the action far beyond a standard cinematic read.....Unlike a more laid-back or subdued delivery, David excels at high-stakes, intense character and narrator performances that would match the raw violence of ancient ecosystems in both the dinosaurs series and life on our planet.

He treats every line with absolute conviction, bringing a Shakespearean gravity to evolutionary battles and mass extinctions of prehistory, Keith David’s commanding, resonant, and intensely dramatic vocal delivery would bring a visceral, theatrical gravitas to prehistoric combat and evolutionary survival that Morgan Freeman's smoother, more laid-back narration style sometimes leaves underexplored.

But hey it's a possibility that Silverback films might feature him in a future paleo project 🤔🤷.

Am I the only one who feels like it's a huge possibility that Silverback films could create a spin off series focusing on the evolution of crocodylians ?

While Silverback Films has not announced a crocodilian-focused spin-off to their Netflix series The Dinosaurs and Life On Our Planet, it is a genuine possibility given their evolutionary framing. Because crocodilians share an ancestral archosaur group with dinosaurs and coexisted through major eras, a dedicated prehistoric reptile project fits their production style.

The audience would see how crocs have evolved throughout prehistory for millions of years.....but for now it depends on what their game plan in the future 🤷🤔.

What If Safari had a Flagship store ?

Think about it.....If Safari Ltd—famous for their highly detailed educational figurines—had the budget to open a permanent flagship store....it would likely transform into an interactive, museum-like toy experience.

Instead of standard shelves, the 2,000+ sq. ft. space would feature life-sized, photorealistic dinosaur and animal dioramas where kids (and adult collectors) could interact and take photos. There would have been areas for their lines such as Prehistoric World, Wild safari, Incredible Creatures, Mythical Realms, and possibly a Creatures Of Tomorrow line.

Even tho there isn't any plans nor announcements but this idea remains as a future possibility 🤷
