Pre-filled income details

Hi

I have been looking at preparing my tax via MyGov and can’t see where my income has been pre-filled in.

I know it sounds silly, but can anymore point me in the right direction.

When I hit prepare 25/26 return, it brings up page 1 with my personal details and then has my bank details and what deductions etc, but I cannot see where my income details are.

I hope that makes sense.

Any help much appreciated.

Still confused - everyone says something different

Hi

Despite reading everything I can, I am still confused around TPD, what is income and taxable and how it affects Centrelink.

For example, my tpd was approved and is currently sitting in my super. I need to withdraw about 30k to pay for medical, lawyers, bills.

I have previously taken out 20k and my super company took a small amount of tax out and sent me the balance. I think of that 20k, about 6k was taxable and I paid around 1.5k in tax.

So if you are on job seeker for the whole year, will your income be the 22k, plus the 20k taken from your tpd? Or will it be 22k plus 6k (the taxable part of my Tpd payment)?

I know the ATO and Centrelink look at Tpd differently, so what figure would Centrelink be looking at, and why? Ie is it to determine your income/assets?

Centrelink talks about tpd and exempt and non exempt payments, but don’t really say what they are. Eg is paying a medical bill exempt or not? None of the monies to be taken out will be used for investment purposes. How do they even know what you spend the money on?

Any insights?

Both withdrawals will come straight into my bank account and then straight out again to pay outstanding bills.

So confused. Do have an appointment with a financial services provider.

Have posted under finance too.

Waiting on DSP outcome

I have been on job seeker and have been waiting to hear back about my DSP claim. Today I went into the app and saw all my reporting periods had changed to monthly. I am on hold to Centrelink to ask why.

While I was on hold, the voice said that your DSP application is progressing and shortly I will get a letter.

I have never heard that voice response and have called Centrelink in the last 2-3 months.

Is it a good or bad sign?

Anyone have the same and what was your outcome. I have changes reporting dates to monthly and a strange message is attached to my account.? If I was successful, why would I even need to report monthly. Is this how they let people down.

My future payments still say job seeker and the amounts are the same.

Any thoughts?

solicitor says no probate required

My solicitor says no probate is required if the estate has no money and a single house that is not being sold, but rather passed directly to beneficiaries.

Is this correct?

DSP approval or rejection

If your claim is dragging on, is this a bad sign?

I know people who had their sonic appointment after me and have already been approved. What causes the disparity?

Thanks

Any experience me with Duloxetine?

Anyone have any experience with Duloxetine? I have heard that the side effects are insane, and that half of all people on it, come off it.

They say it works but they can’t tolerate it. Does anyone know why?

Thanks

Aged care fees and hardship

Has anyone successfully managed to reduce or go on a hard ship payment plan with an aged care provider.

My mother recently passed and while she generally always tried to stay on top of her aged care fees, she did fall being by about 12k.

She was a pensioner. I even paid weekly to help her keep onto of all the fees.

Has anyone been able to successfully reduce the amount owed or go on a payment plan. It would be me paying it as mum is not here anymore.

Do I have any options? Such an expensive time. Aside from the grief, I couldn’t believe how much a funeral was and then extensive medical costs etc etc.

Not sure if it is worth asking or just bite the bullet and keep pulling money out of savings. Even a payment plan would be helpful. So many hidden costs.

Sonic call

Just had a sonic call. Lasted about 3 min. Asked to confirm name and details etc.

Said what the process was and then wished me a good day.

Didn’t mention anything how I feel or medical. I asked if she had any questions. She said she had all the medical reports.

Not sure I even understood the reason for the call. Good news or bad?
