I am helping a friend with their run of Leaf Green and things are off to a rocky start. We chose Charmander as our starter and then have had some abysmal encounter luck and pockeball RNG (each pokemon we have tried to catch has fought us to the bitter end and you may notice we are one short as a result). We are out of money, have 1 pokeball, 4 potions and 3 antidotes (items allowed in battle) to our name and the following team as we reached Pewter City:

Charmander

Pidgey

Beedrill

Spearow

How are we going to beat Brock?! There's literally no clear path in my eyes and I wanted to see if any of you sage nuzlockers could think of a battle plan I am not seeing.

Currently the best I have thought of was this:

Edge beedrill and Charmander to the top of level 14.

Lead beedrill and immediately swap to charmander to then drop geodude to a range pidgey can take the kill.

Swap to pidgey, take the kill, sand attack onix until pidgey goes down.

Go into charmander, growl to decrease rock tomb to a 3 shot KO and then pray we can get through 5 metal claws before onix crits.

If charmander falls, beedrill can then come in, focus energy and gamble a high roll on fury attacks until it goes down too, and then throw spearow into the meat grinder in a final last ditched attempt?
