seeking expat American teens in Ecuador, Peru, or Uruguay

Hi! This isn't exactly an expat question, but I thought this board might be a place where I could find help.

My daughter is a U.S. high school student who is considering spending a year as an exchange student in Ecuador, Peru, or Uruguay. She would love to talk with American teenagers who ideally moved to one of these countries as a teen, and would have insights about what it's like to be a teen living in these countries. (We realize each kid's experience will be very different based on a million factors!) Does anyone have a teen who might be willing to talk by phone or Zoom?

We are trying to find students who have been exchange students in these countries but so far have struck out, so I realized that teen expats might have some similar kinds of insights.

looking to talk to U.S. students who spent a semester or year in Ecuador, Peru, or Uruguay

Hi! My daughter is a U.S. high school student who is considering being an exchange student in Ecuador, Peru, or Uruguay. She would love to get the chance to hear what the experience was like from some students who did this in any of these countries. (We realize each student's experience will be different!) Would there by anyone who would be willing to talk by phone or Zoom?

experiences being a yearlong exchange student where school year doesn't align with home country

My daughter (U.S.) is considering being an exchange student for a year of high school in Ecuador or Uruguay, but the school year in those countries generally doesn't line up with the U.S. school year. So she would start school in the middle of their year, finish a grade, and either move up and do half a year of the next grade, or go back and repeat the first half of the classes she just finished. The opportunities in these countries are very appealing to her, but she is thinking the non-aligned school years may be a dealbreaker. Is there anyone who has been (or currently is) an exchange student in this situation? How did it work out for you?
