Sunday at The Glen

Got home super late last night and was completely exhausted so only had a chance to go through the raceday photos this morning but man am I so happy with how they turned out.

Even though there were quite a few safety cars I was still able to get everywhere I wanted to go starting at the inside of Turn 1 and working my around the track all the way to the toe of the boot and all the way back to Turn 1 again for the end of the race. Getting photos of pretty much everywhere. Along with shooting stuff around the paddock of course

Thankfully it wasn’t quite as hot as other years and not having any rain really helped keep the humidity down. It was still hot but not unbearable

Anyways I hope you all enjoyed the race as much as I did, and I hope you enjoy the photos as well. See you in a couple weeks for Mosport

Saturday at The Glen

Man was Saturday so much busier than I was expecting. It didn’t help that it felt way hotter than the previous days as well. But we made it through the day and I managed to finish up some of the photos last night.

I shot quite a variety of angles and tried to get a good mix of different shots in with all the series. Granted all those variety of places were in the boot where pretty much my whole day was spent aside from the start of the Michelin Pilot Challenge race and Weathertech qualifying.

But with all that being said I hope you all enjoy the photos, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the track today and hopefully we get in a solid six hours of racing

Friday at The Glen

Well day 2 at Watkins Glen is now over and man was it a long one. I was up at 5:45am this morning and just finishing up photos and heading to bed now (just before midnight).

We started off the day shooting Practice and Qualifying sessions from the outside of the bus stop trying to get those cool shots of the cars in the air. The Porsche cup cars put on a show like usual and were really the only ones to really smash the curb but it still made for some great shots from all series and I’m happy with how they turned out

After lunch I hung out around the inside of Turn 1 to catch the start of the Supertrofeo, Porsche Cup, and Mustang challenge races and also be able to catch them rolling back to the paddock after the race was done. I was also able to get some great shots of the aftermath of the Porsche Cup incident.

Overall it was a great day, the weather was beautiful and everything went well. Now lets get to bed so we can do it all again tomorrow

Thursday at The Glen

Well today was a very quick visit to the Glen but it feels good to finally be back shooting IMSA. Got to the track around 2:30 and right at the peak of pouring rain (and of course I forgot my jacket this weekend) but I managed to brave some of the rain to get out and get some shots around the paddock. I got quite a few cars rolling through tech and of course lots of work happening in the garages as well. Hopefully tomorrow will have better weather for us and I can catch some on track action

First time at Pocono

Well there we go another race weekend down this year. This was my first time ever at Pocono and it was pretty cool to be able to see NASCAR on an actual oval (triangle really but same concept) instead of the usual Watkins Glen race I attend. Definitely a different atmosphere and much busier than the road courses too. Met some very interesting people but overall most of them were great

I ended up buying the paddock pass which got me access to a portion of the infield where victory lane was and a viewing platform right at the start finish line. Even though it was incredibly busy it made the experience so much cooler than just sitting in the stands and made for some great photos

Now even though the experience was cool I’m not really sure I’ll be returning to Pocono again or if I’ll keep trying to knock different tracks off my list. Definitely a cool experience but not sure it’s worth the almost $300 (CAD) every year just for the tickets never mind hotel and gas as well

On a side note I really hope that Denny’s car gets made as a diecast it looks so good

Photos from my first N24

It still feels kinda surreal that just last week I was in Germany at the Nürburgring. As a Canadian attending a race in Europe has been on my bucket list for years and I’m so happy I was finally able to make it happen.

It was kind of a last minute decision on my part but when I saw the BMW M4 Touring was going to be competing I just couldn’t resist and I’m glad I decided to make the jump. The whole race was absolutely insane, from the crowds to the cars and everything in between it was on a whole other level from anything I’ve ever attended before and it’s an event I’ll never forget.

Hopefully someday I’ll be able to return again, but until then I’ve got some pretty awesome photos to tide me over. I hope you guys enjoy these photos as well

Airborne at The Glen

How many times do you get to see a stock car purposely up in 2 wheels. I’d wager a bet that it’s not very often. Well you definitely get that and more with the Bus Stop at The Glen.

I was in Watkins Glen this weekend for the race and while I’ll do a whole write up and post more photos from throughout the weekend later I figured these ones were too good not to sure ASAP. I went to this spot last year for IMSA and got some of my favourite photos ever so I decided to give it a shot for NASCAR this year as well and wow did the cup cars ever put on a show.

Hope you all enjoy these photos as much as I do
