My first color portrait with only color pencils

Jesus the amount of time it takes to layer the skin tone and still looks a bit patchy. Im so use to using alcohol markers as base which is 20x faster 😭

Alcohol Marker, Acrylic Marker, & Color Pencil

Work in progress. I received my 120 set of Polychromos color pencils today and I love them so much more than Prismas

I now have 356 Ohuhu Alc markers but

After doing research I read Arrtx pastels are better than Ohuhu so I bought Arrtx 66 pastel set. I didn’t know if you buy from their site (Arrtx) it ships directly from China & not USA :/ Longer wait time. Do any of you guys have the Arrtx pastel set and do you prefer it over Ohuhu?

Also I finally used my Ohuhu Acrylic Markers today (last 2 images) and now I’m pissed i didn’t know I would like acrylic markers more than alcohol markers. So much more satisfying than alcohol markers. So smooth and satisfying blending paint. This adhd hobby is about to get pricey

Daily dose of progress.
Before (the outline) & after. I used an AR sketch app to outline a random portrait. As someone who’s still new to art, it’s made the process way more enjoyable and lets me spend more time using my markers.
Definitely recommend it if you’re new to art and want something beyond coloring books.

Ok next day progress. This is so addicting. I bought more markers

I feel like I’m making lots of progress! I just splurge and bought the 104 set, 36 portrait set, & 48 Nahum acrylic markers to add to my 216 collection!

Learning how to draw/color for first time as 29 y.o

Documenting my journey. I just started my art journey on May 25. I have committed everyday for over 8-12 hours a day (I’m self-employed so I have plenty of free time). I guess I’m pretty happy with my progress in just over a week as a complete noob. Went through lots of courses on YouTube & books. I’m obsessed with alcohol markers. I only have the 216 Ohuhu set, can’t wait to buy more!
