Okay, I return with another potentially silly question.

Currently in a state of being stressed out and overwhelmed trying to figure it out myself (this happens a lot; OCD is a bitch) so I'll just ask more experienced and less fuzzy-brained Gunlancers about what I should be doing.

I don't quite understand when I should use the Evade-Burst over Full Blast?

I see most veteran players Full Reloading after every Full Burst as I assume this enables a faster transition into Full Blast, but sometimes I see the same people spam the Evade-Burst loop instead and I simply do not understand when I should use it?

With Full Blast being the highest source of damage output, it feels counter intuitive to Evade-Burst repeatedly as that locks you out of the fast and reactive Full Blast transitions, and vice versa...

I am very confused and it is making me anxious and overwhelmed. Halp.

Any point in using the Guard Point in the middle of Full Blast?

The most I see it used is as a niche case in speedruns, and even then I only ever see it used once or twice throughout the entire hunt.

Didn't take me long to figure out *how* to use it more effectively, but you end up getting knocked on your ass, pinned, or stunned even *with* Guard II-III what with the end-lag being so extreme that you often get hit anyway (just by a follow-up).

I don't know if it's worth rewiring my brain to use it more often in place of simply ignoring it and investing more heavily into offensive skills, considering you need Guard to not get staggered.

But the OCD part of my brain is telling me I suck at Gunlance if I *don't* start using it proactively.

*AaaaaaAAAAAA*

Found a better trick for firing only one bullet/shell with the Carbines and Mace.

So I'm aware that swapping to a different weapon as soon as you pull the trigger interrupts the second (and third, in the case of carbines) round and stops it from potentially wasting ammo, but did you know that swapping to an empty weapon slot does the same thing without changing your weapon?

Thought that was cool enough to share, considering it means you can use Carbines to effortlessly dismantle the groups of exploding bastards with extreme efficiency and immediately fire the *second* shell from the mace if the first doesn't do the trick.

So, whats your preferred inventory loadout?

Decided to play through the game again recently, going through Forged in Fire on a fresh save for shits and giggles, and I found myself experimenting with different weapons and strategies.

Which got me thinking... Which weapons do you nerds use? How much ammo do you carry for each? What's your game plan for every orphan, and do you have specific uses for each weapon?

My first time running through the game was heavily reliant on the starting pistol and shotgun, and I thought at the time "There's no way you can carry enough ammo for the Dagger or Mace for them to be as effective".

But this time around, even on hard mode and on a fresh save, I find myself rather enjoying the Dagger and carrying much less ammunition for the shotgun. Pistol ammo is everywhere and you can craft tons of it if you don't get hit, so the Dagger using twice as much ammunition as the Sword pays off in that respect; not getting hit means more ammunition, which means enemies die faster, which means there's more you can spend on ammunition-

As for the shotgun, I find myself only carrying the 5 rounds in the chamber and using it to deal with the big guys and evolved variants selectively. You run into just enough shotgun ammo naturally that you can always keep it loaded, so that frees up an inventory slot for another weapon, more ammunition for something else, or just more items.

Anyway... what do ya'll do? :D
