Behold, an M51 Sherman!

A while back I made a meme list of Shermans since that one tank has so many goddamn versions but people were reminding me of the M51 Sherman I at the time forgot even existed.

Behold: Somewhat accurate weird Israeli French American monstrosity of a 60s modernized ww2 tank!

For the set: M4A2 Sherman hull, Type 61 turret and 105mm CN-105-F1.

To be fair for 1962 you are probably better off using like, the Type 61 instead if nothing else but this is funnier I guess.

CoS is a dumpster fire and should be buried 300 feet deep where it can never be found again.

I'm using the "Other Rant" tag on this because this is a rant about everything, not just the game. This includes the game, the people who make it and most of the people who play it.

To start, the game. One upon a time back in late 2020 probably around fall, I decided that this weird little anime looking game that refused to leave me alone a try. I played the hell out of it, even got my friends addicted to it. It had style, it had personality, it was a nice little genre defining creature survival game with a (semi)functional ecosystem that was ripe with an untold story you could slowly piece together through the creature descriptions.

Come about mid 2023 give or take when the game had already started to devolve into nonsense with more creatures than should ever be needed, it suddenly became one new best creature after the next for the next 3 years.

With the recode came a new, arguably terrible map now open enough to make even larger creatures and not have them face the issues of well... being too big. The one disadvantage that made anything else playable.

This unfortunately for almost everyone meant that it suddenly became far too large for any creature maybe tier 3 or smaller as there's no hiding spots, the map is far too open, it was segmented in such a way to where chasing people was nearly impossible. This, however was intentional. The whole goal was to make you want the new biggest and strongest creatures in the game and sit around and display to to everyone. It had stopped being a survival game already but was about to take a very sharp downwards turn.

As Sonar Studios were now focused on little more than getting as much money from children as possible it became nearly unenjoyable to the average player since if you wanted to play the game normally you had to grind hundreds of hours to get enough Shooms (which are now taxed in trade realm to drive up prices) to get any decent creatures without grinding for, or as they want you to do buy your way through the quests to get the new shiny thing everyone wants.

Now let's take a look at the current state of the game roughly from the perspective of a new player!

You find this cool survival game that everyone is playing. You start and are immediately greeted with an option of a few different creatures with different playstyles. You pick say, [whatever the current option for carnivore is] and spawn in. You see a world that is mostly water around you. You spend the first few minutes trying to find something to kill because that's what carnivores do, right? Inevitably you find a food spawn than move on after eating.

Eventually you grow to an adult and find a large group of people in the dessert and try to hunt down something small. In the chat you see something about a "kosser" and suddenly about 6 creatures many hundreds of times your size are trying to chase you down simply for what, trying to play a survival game?

You go to the "Trade Realm" and the first thing you see are booths most of which advertising some cool big creatures which are probably way better than yours but they all cost many thousand and you only have maybe a hundred. After a while of boring gameplay you inevitably give in and buy a few thousand "Shooms" so the game calls its ingame currency. You buy one of these creatures and spawn in as one of them.

In

You spawn as a baby, vaguely familiar with where you are and start wandering around. You die many times while you can't defend yourself since it takes over an hour to grow whatever it is you are using. You get sick of this and buy some of the game's premium currency "Tickets" and buy a full growth token.

I could keep going but you get the point already.

I'd say about 90% of the game's active playerbase are unthinking and don't know what a survival game is, the game is a trap made to get as much money as physically possible from children and it hurts to watch a game that I've seen grow over the course of 6 years having died years ago being puppeted like this. But people will always buy the tickets to see the dancing skeleton, won't they?

First post on this sub, I figured this of all places would be the place to express my hatred of what the game has become.

What ganre are the new "reimagined" songs?

Seriously, what ganre is this?

I'd like to think I've listened to every Currents song atleast twice and I like the raw emotion delivered through the vocals and the complex riffs that's been there from the start.

This kinda just removes all of that imo.

The new songs just sound so odd. What even is it?

I'd like to make the note that I wrote this incredibly late at night. Music is art, art is subjective and this my purely my options. I don't hate the band, not am I saying the songs are bad, just that I (an Internet stranger not a single person here knows) do not like it.

My prediction for the next April 1st event

So, as of recently there's been more and more focus on modern vehicles and weapon systems and with the newest update possibly more focus on bombers aswell.

I'm guessing this will carry into next year where we could see modern systems and weapons like air-launched cruise missiles.

What are modern bombers with many modern systems, most of which cannot be found on many other aircrafts? The B-1B Lancer and Tu-160M2 Blackjack.

The Tu-160M2 has DIRCM and EO-MAWS jamming and countermeasure systems aswell as a payload capacity of 45,000 kg (99,208 lbs).

The B-1B Lancer has an AN/ALE-50 towed decoy and tail warning pulse-doppler radar and a max payload of 56,699 kg (125,000 lbs) with external pilons.

My guess is that it is primarily going to be a gamemode primarily focused on defending against said aircrafts like Deep Strike and/or Nuclear Thunder.

I know it feels like America is getting the short end of the stick with this, but to be fair so did Russia with the Tu-95M (1957, cannot carry missiles) while America got the B-52H (1961, made specifically to carry missiles).

Also maybe tankers to go along with these?

I've had this in the back of my mind for months but have never been able to string together enough coherent thoughts to write it out until now.

Choose your fighter: Sherman edition

All of the Shermans and Sherman related tanks I could think of in order of gun size:

  1. M4A2 (t3)
  2. M4/FL-10 (t5)
  3. M4A2 (76) W (t4)
  4. Sherman Firefly (t5)
  5. M36B1 (t5)
  6. M4(105) with M1 dozer blade (t5)
  7. T76E1 (t4)

Seriously though, why the hell is there so many Shermans and Sherman derived tanks? I'm sure I missed a few. I also included the tier of all the tanks because I could.

M4/T26 "Shershing" not present because I forgor and Reddit's dumb and won't let me add new images. T34 Calliope also not present 'cause that shit is expensive for an upgraded tier 3 turret.

How is this community alive?

There hasn't been a new game in 3 years and even than last I checked Slendytubbies Worlds' servers were shut down some time last year. What keeps this sub going enough for new posts to fill like 1/4 of my home feed?
