Demacian Katarina (OC)

Demacian Katarina (OC)

The fact that we don't have a Demacian Katarina / Noxian Garen skin is CRIMINAL.

They're star crossed lovers, Riot. The idea is right there!!

Anyway, this is just what if the Du Couteaus were a Demacian family. I imagine them to be a noble house of Mageseekers with Marcus as the head of the house. All three siblings were trained to be primary Mageseekers or at the very least support them. Like canon, Cassiopeia went more into the political side of things along with a dose of espoinage.

Talon tracks and hunts mages down.

Katarina was suppose to do the same but in her youth, due to her reckless behavior, she failed a mission allowing multiple mages to escape. Katarina gains her scar either during that fail or as a form of punishment from her father afterwards.

Later, Katarina left the Mageseekers to pursue becoming a ranger as that suits her skillsway more. Although Marcus doesn't like his daughter being anything other than a Mageseeker, he very much prefers to keep Katarina out of Demacian politics because of her temper.

She doesn't have her own animal companion because she doesn't feel like she needs one to do her job. If she works with rangers who do have an animal, she's happy to use their strengths. If she were to have a companion, it would most likely be a type of feline.

On missions, Katarina is just like in canon: Flashy, agile and very risky which puts her at odds with just about everyone since rangers pride themselves in their stealth.

She meets Garen while out on a scouting mission, getting captured and forced to work with him like they do in the movie storyboards

Feel free to add more stuff :)

Little bits of interesting lore

Since there are so many characters in league, I know not everyone can have their own novel. It's such a shame cause sometimes in stories, there are these little tidbits that hint at a much deeper character and then it's never addressed again

Like here; This was taken from one of Elise's shortstories called A Shuttered Manse. It's at the end where Leblanc is telling Elise that she'll get her reward (aka people to eat or offer to Vilemaw iirc) and we get the hint that Elise is not 100% thrilled by the idea. Before brushing it off because "I could use a blush of youth again"

And that is so interesting. Is it super deep and suddenly make Elise a multi-dimensional character who deserves the spotlight? Not really but it does make her a little more than just "I want to be young again and I'll do anything to get it". Not that it's a bad motivation, just a bit too much black and white.

Now it's "I want to be young again and I'll do anything to get it but I don't really like it"

There is also Cassiopeia's short story The Shedding Of Skin where she works as a vigilante almost (TLDR: she kills a murderer who sells kids for drake meat). It's more than just "sexy snake lady". Not much more, but more.

(Not to mention that you'd still only know Katarina and Cassiopeia are sisters by reading the wiki but I digress cause that will never not bother me-)

Elise and Cassio are my biggest examples because these are the only ones I know of off the top of my head-

Need help with a redesign

(First slide is the redesign, 2nd slide is the old design)

Idk what tag to use for this but I looked through some old art and found my mlp oc that I used as my persona for a good long while. She's not my first mlp oc, or the one with the deepest lore but I wanna give her a bit of love for old time's sake. Input is greatly appreciated cause I am not good with backstories or designs

The general backstory used to be that Spark was a writer/archeologist/history enthusiast who moves to what is basically an Amish town but Egyptian themed. She had a love interest in that town but he was just a name (River Wave) and that's it.

I tried giving some world building in that the town is made of Earth ponies and Pegasi which still believe that all Unicorns can raise the sun and moon. Never amounted to anything.

Design-wise I wanted to make the entire design more saturated cause it looked a bit boring compared to other mlp characters (canon or oc). Maybe I'd also give her some glasses

And as for personality, Spark is a monotone but curious person who is afraid of failure and looking foolish infront of anyone

Quinn is the most boring champion in lore (and I love her for it)

What makes Quinn special is that she is incredibly normal. Let me break it down:

- She doesn't have any magic/ non-human/mortal powers of her own

- Her skills aren't just given to her, she had to train and earn her title as Ranger Knight

- Her parents are both alive and support her (her mom is a ranger and taught Quinn and Caleb, and their dad helped Quinn make her crossbow)

- She isn't influenced by some outside force (Demon, Aspect, etc.)

- The only real traumatic thing she experienced was her brother's death and even that doesn't seem to affect her (or at least she doesn't mention it every five seconds in game like SOME champions) (And the death of a single person is TAME compared to most other lores)

- Personality-wise, Quinn is very grounded and balanced (no grand ego, no 'Feel sorry for me', she doesn't even have a real enemy or rival besides Noxus as a whole which is also pretty much every other Demacian)

And I think that makes her special compared to almost every other champion. This post is all my opinion but I really enjoy Quinn as "A person who has a bird" in a world with magic, dragons and grand schemes that decide the fate of the world. The most interesting thing about her is her bond with Valor who MIGHT be her brother reincarnated but that is just a theory and outside of her calling him "brother" from time to time I don't think we got any evidence for that?

Call me tasteless but I've always enjoyed the "Average Joe" experience in high fantasy settings to see how integrated fantastical elements are in the everyday life of the people in that world

Is there a book like that?

A detective novel with a noir feeling that takes place in a world with fantasy creatures? A gritty no-nonsense detective, having to solve a case (murder, a stolen item, etc. I'm not picky) while being in a society with elves, fairies, centaurs, and so on would be so interesting if the case hinges on the fact that it involves non-human / partially human people
