Loving my Yamaha KX-200U so far. All my other gear is pretty cheap, but I’m trying to keep things as compact as possible. Cheap baby amp, headphone amp (only used for the EQ dials), and aiwa speakers. Also, Sony blu ray player for CDs. Not in any way true HiFi, but still pretty killer for a bedroom setup to me!

Got a new deck today! Everything works except the tape counter. Looked inside and will need a new belt, but that’s not an issue since I have no need for that feature.

I’m in a band. We’ve scraped up enough gig money to get a drum set, and I picked up this pdp encore kit for $250 on Facebook marketplace. Came with mutes and was virtually unused.

What should I replace/upgrade first? I have a set of sabian b8 cymbals that were donated by a friend and I’ve already cut a port hole in the bass drum and threw in a small blanket.

Right now, the thing that I’m least happy with is the snare. The toms sound alright with the stock heads. I have a fairly low budget (~$100) and I intend on getting a new snare batter head and some snare wires.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated!!

Bought a big lot of tapes online. I found a receipt from ‘84 and a sticker from record bar. Awesome!

I recently picked up this tape at an antique shop for $3. It’s in incredible condition. The J card is mint, and the shell looks almost perfect. However, the volume fluctuates way too much to go unnoticed. It’s not like any other tape I’ve had with similar issues. The tape doesn’t muffle when reducing in volume. Anyone know what could’ve caused this? Is there any way to fix it besides re recording?
