So, I'm a 31 year old guy living in south-east London. By day I work as a library/archive assistant and I do some volunteering on the weekends. In my spare time my interests include walking, gardening, chess, and gaming amongst other things. I'm trying to get back into reading, focusing mostly on science fiction. I enjoy sci-fi in other media too, and I'm also generally interested in history, space, and the Tolkien legendarium. I would say as a person I am quite reserved, but I try to be friendly to everyone (unless they are pre-emptively unfriendly to me).

My post is a little vague in terms of 'what I'm looking for' but I think that the best connections tend to form organically through conversation. I want us to get a feel for each other's persons so that we can figure out the finer details later. I would much prefer someone from London or Kent, simply because it opens up the possibility of meeting in person without long drives or expensive train tickets. Of course meeting up is completely optional but I do like a chat over coffee (even though I'm not the chattiest person).

I would prefer someone in my own age bracket or older, but don't let that be a hard barrier to responding if you're like 29 or something. What I'm really looking for I suppose is a mature and assertive personality more than anything.
