I have an old dilapidated fence that needs to be replaced. I have received three quotes for cedar fencing - all of them about the same price- $18,000. It’s a large corner lot on 1/3 of an acre.
My home was built in the late 1880’s home and I would like to put an age appropriate fence around it without breaking the bank.
Any suggestions on types of fencing if I don’t go with cedar?

Any suggestions? I should add that part of the cost was four gates. I could get rid of one gate but they all serve a purpose.
I recently bought a home and this will be my first garden. The home had an above ground pool and an old outdoor oven that I removed. The result is uneven ground.
I also had a couple apple trees that were dead and I had those chipped and I have the mulch from the trees.
I would like to rake the mulch down to make it level and then add logs on top of that. I have cedar containers that are 6 feet long 3 feet wide and about 22 inches in height I planned on putting the wood and other things inside of that.
How important is it for the ground to be level? Is this the right thought process?
I grew up having a bull mastiffs as a pet in my childhood. I know their temperament or at least I think I do and they’re usually very chill dogs.
My daughter‘s dog doesn’t like big dogs. Her dog is about 65 pounds and he gets along just fine with little dogs but anything bigger and he’s very aggressive towards them.
We live in different states and her dog is now eight years old. If I get up a bullmastiff, am I setting up both dogs for failure when she visits me or when I visit her?
