I just finished reading the WIP The Mercy of Never Seeing You Again, which was beautifully written and heartbreaking in the best way possible. And I was looking for more recommendations like that.
Love ones where he’s hopelessly, irrevocably wanting her, and either she’s scared of something more, just simply wants a friends with benefits situation, or whatever the reason is doesn’t want to be with him romantically.
Until obviously she does LOL.
Or looking for ones where he purposefully acts clueless to spend more time with Hermione.
Or fanfics where Draco either asks OTHERS for help so that he can impress Hermione.
I read one where he asked harry for help with a telephone and it was so funny. I wish I could remember which one it was.
Or fanfics where he embarrasses the hell out himself
because he’s so clueless and everyone is like wtf?
It can also be a he HAS to ask and he hates asking her (like enemies to lovers kind of situation). Would love some like this!
Some potential scenarios I was thinking of were:
Either he saves her from being tortured or he intervenes - 7th year in the manor from Bellatrix or another scenario created where he saves her.
Or he saves her from being sexually assaulted. I read one where he saved her from Cormac at Slughorn’s party (I’ll take more of these where Cormac tries something or someone tries to do something to Hermione during their Hogwarts time and he intervenes).
Maybe they’re coworkers and he saves her from something/someone.
He finds her somewhere and saves her (maybe she lost her memories, or she was tortured and left).
Or on a lighter note, he saves her from an uncomfortable situation, like rescuing her from talking to an older wizard at a gala or something. Or an insistent Cormac McLaggen.
But I’ll take any recommendations if you understand the vibe I’m going for lol.
I do prefer ones that follow the books with the whole wartime happening/happened; Draco as a death eater and they still become Head Boy/Head Girl during their 7th year.
Or it could be an 8th year where they both were appointed the titles (idk how Draco would’ve gotten it as a death eater but any explanation is good).
But I’ll take any recs where they’re Head Boy/Head Girl fanfics. No Muggle AU though.
I’ve read a couple where Draco turns mid-6th year or end of 6th year and Lupin is really kind to him. Or vice versa where Draco admitted how Lupin was the best DADA professor, etc.
Sort of looking for those vibes. Or if Remus survived the war and Draco and him are friendly with each other/acquaintances.
I’d prefer ones that sort of follow the series up until 6th year at least. But I’ll take any recs.

Just wanting some recs where it’s a secret relationship, but Draco wants to go public and Hermione doesn’t and it’s an issue.

I’m creating a poster on Canva with this maroon background and golden letters that have the following words on it: courage, adventurous, determination, righteous, chivalry, and daring.
My friend and I were debating over the suffixes of some of these words. It got me thinking, should these be traits that a Gryffindor VALUES or should it be something that a Gryffindor IS?
Because then the suffixes would change.
A Gryffindor VALUES courage, adventure, determination (should I change this to resilience?), chivalry. I don’t know what I’d do with righteous and daring.
A Gryffindor IS/ARE courageous, adventurous, determined, righteous, chivalrous, and daring.

I’ve read some marriage law ones where he’s really kind to his house elves and they have some sort of “friendship” or “relationship”. I think Ten out of Ten is one.
But I want to read more where he’s generally nice or has a bond with his house elves.
One of the tropes I particularly enjoy is when a “relationship” begins because of a bet one character made or the character is pretending to like them for some reason but then actually falls for them.
We see this ALL the time with the male character, but I’m a sucker for women in male dominated fields, so are there any fanfics with Hermione pretending to like Draco for a reason.
It doesn’t have to be a bet, it could be that she needs information from him or she’s a spy. Just her faking her feelings for him to get something.
But no Muggle AU/No Voldemort AU.
Meaning the title itself, not the story that goes with it.
Whether it was a title you thought was really pretty. Or you thought the title had meaning behind it considering the plot. Like you read the story and then realized why it’s titled that. Or a title that was heartbreaking (the story itself could be HEA). Like one of those title’s where you’re like “wow”. Or even a witty title.
I thought Beyond Recall or Desire was a well-suited title considering the plot.
I also lowkey liked A Marriage of Inconvenience just because of how many times it was said in the actual story.
I haven’t read the Injury of Finally Knowing You, but just thinking about the title lowkey breaks my heart. It is on my TBR list.
This can be during the war in any capacity. Either she doesn’t make it out from the manor or she’s been captured and he lies or saves her or protects her (he intervenes during Bellatrix’s torture).
And if it’s post-war, it could be that there are death eaters still out there trying to harm her, and he protects her/intervenes.
Only thing is that the war ends 7th year like shown in the books.
Either this can be with Harry still in the lavatory or after Harry leaves. Snape can still come to help or not too, doesn’t matter.
Really just any fanfics where Hermione finds him bleeding after Harry curses Draco with the Sectumsempra curse or she actually sees Harry curses him.
Looking for fanfics where Draco and Sirius interact. Whether it means that Sirius didn’t die during the 5th book or Draco is good.
This can also be through portraits if it’s a thing.

I’d like this to be the “start” of their friendship/relationship (whatever you’d like to call it). I don’t want this to be something that happens when they’re already friends or friendly with each other.
I don’t really enjoy Ron bashing. I’d love to see ones where Ron and Harry like Draco, but Hermione doesn’t like Draco.
I’ve read The War of the Malfoys, and that’s similar to what I’m looking for.
