Warm weather and Labradors. What do you all dog to keep them entertained?

Firstly, picture to pay the dog tax.

Secondly, I didn’t have time this morning to walk her before working at 7am. We are both full of regrets on me not checking the weather forecast, it’s now 30 degrees Celsius at midday.

What do you all do to keep your Labrador entertained on a hot day, if it’s too warm for a walk? I know some of you are more experienced living in warmer climates than a silly British person like me.

Edit: hilarious and on topic typo in the title

Edit 2: My goodness, so many replies. Thank you everyone for all of your suggestions! My lab loves water and I have a doggy pool. It’s a shame she snubs her nose at it and just uses it to drink from. A lake would be much better 😂 I just took her for a sniffy walk to the woods near me as it’s now 25 C and played some sniffing games with her when we got back. Beach tomorrow! You guys are the best! Thank yooou

WW1 Royal Welch Fusiliers pin maybe?

Found in a Gloucestershire, England. Looks like the classic ‘flaming grenade’ of the Royal Fusiliers to me. But just wanting confirmation. There were a number of Royal Welch Fusiliers (now Welsh Fusiliers) memorialised at the local church.

Apologies for the god awful photos.

Lead Ball? - UK Find

Hi all. My fossil finding sometimes comes up with random results. I’m not a metal detector user (?) but thought this might be a good place to start.

Found in Gloucestershire, UK. Small 1cm ish ball with visible mold seams top and bottom. A very, very faint line around the diameter between them. Weighs 13g. Not magnetic. Dull silver, maybe lead?

Do I get excited about a pistol ball or is it a weight of some distribution? 😅 Area pretty well known for the Siege of Gloucester and smaller skirmishes in the English Civil War.

Death bed fossil ID

A Where’s Wally/ Waldo situation for you all!

Found this death soup mix in Gloucestershire UK (Blue Lias, Lower Jurassic area specifically). I’m seeing the classic, smashed up crinoid ossicles. Any ideas on the others? 😊

UK Spring means Bluebells for us. The woods and wild places look beautiful this time of year!

Shame about the Labrador ruining it. 😑

I found this little guy in Gloucestershire, UK thinking it was probably fossiliferous limestone. Not from any formation, it was found as is on the floor in a wood.

This isn’t typical limestone found in the area and I’m wondering what these brown staining/ oxidation could be? Whilst the limestone is hard, these brown spots are delicate and can break with a wipe of a finger.

Iron oxidising? Organic matter inclusions? Pyrite oxidation?

Edit: just for clarification, I broke this rock myself. The middle wasn’t exposed when found

Hi everyone. Just wanted other people’s input really.

I had a conversation with an ADHD colleague before my diagnosis. Keep in mind this colleague is in her 50s, so this might be the reason she said what she said. I mentioned that I was getting an assessment for both ADHD and Autism having scored high on both questionnaires prior. Autism came as a bit of a shock to me at the time (looking back it wasn’t shocking at all 😂).

She said that she could definitely see ADHD like symptoms in me as we worked together. Some things she struggled with as well. But then said she doubted I had Autism as I was very empathetic. This did strike me as odd at the time as I knew those two things we not connected.

What she didn’t know was that I am highly empathetic. As a child I worried that all of my toys would be sad if I didn’t tuck them all in at night. I feel very deeply when I hear sad news from family, friends and closer people around me. It stays with me for weeks sometimes. So much so I have to shut off my emotions to not cause a bit of a shut down.

What are others experiences? Has what my colleague said also feel wrong to you?
