I’m planning to get my first tattoo and wanted some advice before going ahead.

I’m considering a vertical geometric design with a lotus in the center, placed on the back of my calf (around 20-22 cm). The style is mostly fine line + dotwork, with clean symmetry and moderate detail (not overly dense).

I’ve attached the design I’m thinking of. My main concern is how well this style will age over time, especially with the fine lines and dotwork.

Specific questions:

• Will this level of fine detail hold up well over the years, or will it blur/fade quickly?
• Is this a good design choice for a first tattoo in terms of healing and longevity?
• Are there any adjustments you’d recommend to improve long-term results (line thickness, shading, spacing, etc.)?
• Anything I should specifically look for in an artist for this type of work?
