Let us use Role Queue tokens for Ban Protection on heroes
The current matchmaking ban system has made Pudge essentially unplayable for people who actually want to main him. I recently came back to Dota after a break and played 185 matches over 3 months. I tried to pick Pudge in almost every game but only managed to play him 22 times which is an 11.9% pick rate.
As a Pudge spammer, that makes the hero feel effectively removed from the game. At around 2 games per day, an 11.9% pick rate means I got to play Pudge roughly once every 4 days.
Im able to pick him even less than i see heores that are on my banlsit.
For example Spectre 34 games and AM 24 games as ally or enemy.
Maybe allow us to spend Role Queue tokens or something similar to protect ONE hero in our pool from being banned. When both teams try to double-pick the protected hero then the game could simply roll 50/50 between two players and make the loser repick instead of banning the hero for both of them.
