Hello, Circus Baby has a voiceline in the job interview minigame of Help Wanted 2 that plays intermittently. The voiceline goes as follows: “I like it here. It is safe. Safe forever”, and she says it in a way where she sounds obsessed with staying down in the rental facility, which doesn’t make sense because she spends all of Sister Location trying to escape.
Maybe she’s using it as a way to manipulate the player again and I’m just not picking up the insinuations but it’s specifically that “safe forever” that’s said in a creepy whisper (actually kind of in the same tone that she says “I’ve kidnapped you” in night 4 of sister location) that makes the line feel very genuine.
I mean, maybe she was just trying to make the best of being trapped down there, but she had a clear opportunity to kill the night guard at the end and chose not to. I guess there’s a chance that she could have initially been content with staying in the rental facility, but eventually developed a desire to escape.
Does anyone know what the significance behind this inconsistency is?

It’s been referred to as a Henry monologue and alternatively as a self-insert vent piece over the years, but both of those still have plot holes.

If Grey Man is Henry, does that mean Henry was originally supposed to create Circus Baby and it was retconned to be William?

If Grey Man is Scott Cawthon, what’s the “I’ve made something terrible. Her name is Baby” line supposed to mean? Was Circus Baby originally going to be somewhat like The Mimic? Like was she going to be the main villain from then on before Scott changed his mind and brought William back?

It doesn’t make sense for Grey Man to be William Afton, because I doubt William regrets much of what he’s done.

Also, was Baby’s eye color meant to be yellow before Scott changed his mind, or was that just a stylistic choice and he wanted them to be green from the start?

The sequence concludes with “To Be Continued…” and while we do end up seeing Circus Baby in Sister Location, her appearance isn’t as grand as FNAF world made it look like it’d be. The only time we even see her is the parts n service minigame. And we also don’t get a follow-up on Grey Man’s story in Sister Location. Maybe Scott planned for Sister Location to be something larger, but realized it wasn’t something he could do on clickteam.

I don’t think anything would’ve been different about FNAF 1-4 even if Scott had a team back then like he does now. He seemed to have wanted those games to be pretty minimal anyway. I think though, it’s a completely different story with Sister Location. I wish we could’ve seen what it would’ve been if Scott had the resources to make the game he wanted.
