PlayScale Woody Doll (2026 Mattel)

So, I made a few modifications to my Mattel Woody PlayScale Doll to make it a bit more movie-accurate.

On the photos, here’s what I changed:

Holster & Spurs

I added some yellowish details to the holster and used the same color on the boot spurs, with a slight touch of red to make them feel a bit more film-accurate. The spurs themselves were simply painted yellow. I tried to find a shade that matched the movie version reasonably well.

Paint Used

Everything was painted by hand using Vallejo acrylic paints and brushes. Unfortunately, I don’t own an airbrush, but honestly, with details this tiny and thin, it probably would have been difficult anyway.

Of course, it’s not perfect — this is ultimately a toy made for a 2-year-old child to play with later, so the goal wasn’t to turn it into a high-end collectible, just to make it a little more accurate.

The Hat (Biggest Change)

The part where I spent by far the most time was the hat.

The original hat was missing the darker band/strap around it, so I repainted that area in a darker tone to make it stand out more. I also hand-painted all the small stitched/threaded details running through the hat (not sure what the proper name for them is), because none of those details were colored originally.

Let me know what you think!

Cheaters are everywhere

So, a friend and I recently decided to start playing Red Dead Redemption 2 Online. We’re only around level 10–15, and honestly, the game is pretty fun. Being able to immerse yourself in such a huge and detailed world is really enjoyable.

But there’s one major problem: in basically every lobby we join, there are cheaters everywhere. Like, everywhere. We constantly run into invisible players sneaking up behind us and attacking us out of nowhere, or random carts spawning on top of us for no reason. It quickly turns into complete chaos.

What are we supposed to do? Are we really just forced to deal with this?

Honestly, high-level players (level 300+) killing us from 600 meters away is annoying, but at least that’s part of the game. The real issue is invisible players, people constantly spawning or deleting things, and all the weird mod menu stuff that completely ruins the experience.

Basically, it feels like we had two choices: play at 30 FPS on PS4/PS5 with (probably) fewer cheaters, or play the smooth and better-looking PC version where the lobbies are a complete mess.

Any solutions, advice, or opinions? Thanks a lot!

Working on a custom Buzz Lightyear repaint (Toy Story 5 style), clearly meant for a young kid.

This is actually my second Buzz project, and this one is for my son’s 2nd birthday.

I started with the 25 cm Mattel Buzz from Amazon — the simple version:

- no electronics

- no laser

- no voice

- only feature is the wings that deploy with the red button

The base sculpt honestly isn’t bad, but it’s really lacking paint details out of the box. So the goal here is a full repaint to bring it closer to the movie look while keeping it durable for a kid.

What I’ve done so far:

- Repainted parts of the legs in green

- Reworked the hands (added green + some purple details)

- Added black details on the shoulders/shoulder pads

- Painted fake red and green “LEDs” on both sides of the wings

- Cleaned up and repainted the back area to make everything more consistent

Hey guys!

This is my first Buzz Lightyear custom. I spent about a good week working on it.

Originally it was a Disney Store version, the one that has two holes in the black chest area (I assume they were sensors). I removed them, filled the holes with Green Stuff, and sanded everything smooth.

I also worked on his eyelids, trying to raise them slightly using Green Stuff. There was also a broken part on the back that I rebuilt with Green Stuff as well.

In the end, I repainted all the green with a more “flashy” tone and made the purple a bit darker.

I know the chin area on the head isn’t perfect, but it’s extremely small and doing it with a brush was pretty tricky.

So yeah — what do you guys think? Any advice or feedback?
