I made a free tool for packaging SFM models into release ZIPs

SFM Package Builder is a free Windows tool for people who port, edit, or release models for Source Filmmaker.

Select your compiled model and materials. The builder gathers the related files into the correct SFM folder structure and lets you rename the release copy without changing your originals.

It can also generate an installation README, check for packaging problems, and add rigs, configs, and documentation.

Save the package as a project, then reuse it whenever you need to build a new ZIP from your latest files. This makes it easier to update a model and publish new releases.

Thematic debt comes due at the end

For all its years of superhero satire, the television show resolves nothing.

The original comic, though vulgar, drives toward a clear conclusion: corporate greed, manufactured heroes, and how hatred destroys Butcher while love saves Hughie.

The show’s only theme is keeping you watching.

The comic’s reveal works because it changes how you see the whole story

People keep asking whether Black Noir’s reveal as Homelander’s assassin-clone was “earned.” Fewer ask whether it enriches the story.

Before the reveal, Homelander is narcissistic, contemptuous, and full of impotent rage. But whenever he commits true evil, he breaks down—curling into a ball and crying, or vomiting into a toilet.

After the reveal, you realize Homelander was immoral and petty, but not purely evil. His conscience was attacking him. Black Noir had gaslit him into believing he was worse than he really was. That single reveal turns Homelander into a figure of tragic irony.

It also hollows out Butcher’s justification for his war against supes. He was chasing the wrong man. But his quest was never really about revenge. It was about feeding the anger inside himself. That’s why, after killing Black Noir, he immediately looked for more supes to kill.

The reveal also exposes Vought’s arrogance. Of course they created a failsafe for Homelander. But at what cost? Their paranoia destroyed their own project. Black Noir’s obsession with killing Homelander helped drive Homelander into psychosis.

The twist adds layers to the story and deepens the characters. Yet people still fixate on whether it was “earned,” as if Black Noir did not try to kill Homelander halfway through the story by firing missiles from his jet and killing the instructor standing beside him.

A reveal like this lingers. It makes you think about the characters long after the story ends. It is a major part of the comic’s meaning, and the show threw it away.
