First Little Road Trip in the name of the World Cup

A little under 300 miles. I’ve lost count of the honks. There’s not that many more World Cups I’ll be able to watch with my dad, 🥂 maybe many more.

FitCamX Install - 😡- ‘25 Pro S

Hello, could you help if you have installed the FitCamX? I have a ‘25 Pro S, and I tried to remove the OEM plastic rain sensor cover and I just could NOT! According to all the vids (there aren’t many) and comments/photos I’ve run across VW forums, Facebook, Reddit…I couldn’t get it.

I did get the top part ( 3 largest prongs & metal clip) closet to the rear view mirror cover. but it’s only a slight gap…does that sound right? It’s less than a quarter inch space that it budged.

Also, almost everyone says to squeeze the sides of the cover and push the same direction at the windshield. Not directly down but “kinda down at an angle that matches the windshield”…so I do that and I just can’t get it loose. The photo attached, the circle ⭕️, how does squeezing the sides lets that loose? To me, squeezing the sides doesn’t do anything. As for the square marker, this looks like it more of a guide for alignment? There shouldn’t be clipped in place.

Geez, did I explain that right…does it make ANY sense? 😂 my apologies if reading this made your head hurt.

EDIT: oh, the photos are screenshots of the YouTube install vid. It’s not me, I’m case anyone thought why are they asking how to take it off when they already took it off.

UPDATE 6.27.2025: FitCamX dashcam has been installed (I’ll drop a comment with a pic) My index fingers and thumbs hurt.

A piece of advice, do this in the middle of the day when the sun has had enough time to bake your interior. The cover was easier to work with.

I did break something! When I finally got it loose, I was using so much force that it yanked out the current USB-C connector. The connector metal piece dislodged. I was able to push it back in. But I didn’t test to see if it worked. Everything else was unharmed.

V2L Adapters

Hello, the lingo in the good night package has me curious. Have any of you used a V2L adapter (that connects to your charging port) for your Buzz?

A Question to 1st Edition Owners (USA) - Long Shot Request

Hello, this is gonna be a long shot but I rather ask as opposed to never knowing. I saw the complimentary package you guys are mailed by VW. I fell in love with it, and filled with ENVY (just joking). Is there any 1st Edition Owners on here that would be willing to sell theirs?

I reached out to VW, to see if I could purchase it, I can’t. They directed me to their shop but the only thing available in the shop is the beach blanket.

If you are willing to, please feel free to direct message me. 👀 🤷‍♂️

Sorry for asking, I hope it’s not too intrusive

I Would LOVE a V2L Feature

I would fall in love all over again with the Buzz and how practical it can be. Other than that, I love that there’s enough room to tame up the scooters, but HATE the look of the straps not to mention the extra time to put them in place.

In Car VW App Store

Hello, how do I gain access to the In Car VW App Store? Infotainment version is 5.4. Nowhere on the monitor does it show an App Store. What could I do?

Purchasing Skin for infotainment

Hello! We are recent new owners of a ‘26 Hyundai Ioniq 5. It’s my SO’s primary vehicle. They recently purchased the Snoopy/Chatlie Brown skin set for the infotainment through the app…but it has not downloaded to the car. What could we do?

Anything I can do to get it to load to the vehicle?

Ionna Rechargey Stations - Memorial Day Weekend Rates

Ionna stations have a promo going, cost will be @$0.20/kWh. I don’t know if this is only in my market. They offer up to 400 kWh fast charging, both CCS/NACS connectors.

Lovebugs

You know it’s bad when enough of them are splattered on your rig that they give off a stench. It’s not vomit inducing but it’s enough of them that you can smell the death and decay.

TIL, the males are alive for 2-3 days and females live up to ~7 days (enough time to mate and lay eggs). The eggs stay in a larva state for approximately 4 months or 8 months depending on the season. With the right temperature and humidity they come out in droves as grown adults ready to mate. They mature in the spring and fall.

Spring mature fast, and are ready in September. The results of the Fall mating season will mature the following spring, taking longer due to winter season slowing down their growth.

Wants & Wishes, What Would Be Yours

Loving the ID Buzz. As I’m getting to learn and experience life with it, a couple of things have come to mind:

  • It would be awesome if they had designed the 3rd seats to face either forward or face out towards the back. We got a chance to take it out to the beach, and back it towards the ocean. I would’ve loved the chance to flip the 3rd seats around to face out. Eitherway, we folded down both back rows, laid out a thick blanket, opened one of the sliding doors…enjoying the breeze and sounds.

  • AC Outlet (this put a smile on my face, electric cooler time)

  • Let the radio play, with the vehicle off, for as long as we want.

  • One Pedal

  • Attachment to repurpose floor anchors when removing the 3rd row. I would like to have an attachment so it can secure E-scooters.

These are not complaints, just little wishes for this fun little car!

Edit

  • Oh question, so with the front and rear rims being a different size, there’s no need to rotate these tires?

  • I noticed on the roof, if you don’t have a roof rack, you have 6 exposed bolts. I’m sure they are treated bolts to prevent corrosion but what kinda cover caps could I get?

  • Windshield Sunshade recommendations?

Good Vibes - NBD

That’s Good Vibes 👆 NBD as of 2 weeks ago today, and loving it! It feels like a hobby owning it 😂

I’m taking it in to the shop tomorrow, for tints. Sunday is back to the dealer (that 1yr/10k maintenance check). You guys in this subreddit make the whole experience that much more fun, honestly!

I was able to design the Good Vibes art. I got them printed on frost vinyl, gonna place them on the rear side windows. DM if you would like the PNG file for it…I assume reddits chat would allow me to send it to you 🤷‍♂️
