Lovebugs

Lovebugs

You know it’s bad when enough of them are splattered on your rig that they give off a stench. It’s not vomit inducing but it’s enough of them that you can smell the death and decay.

TIL, the males are alive for 2-3 days and females live up to ~7 days (enough time to mate and lay eggs). The eggs stay in a larva state for approximately 4 months or 8 months depending on the season. With the right temperature and humidity they come out in droves as grown adults ready to mate. They mature in the spring and fall.

Spring mature fast, and are ready in September. The results of the Fall mating season will mature the following spring, taking longer due to winter season slowing down their growth.

Wants & Wishes, What Would Be Yours

Loving the ID Buzz. As I’m getting to learn and experience life with it, a couple of things have come to mind:

  • It would be awesome if they had designed the 3rd seats to face either forward or face out towards the back. We got a chance to take it out to the beach, and back it towards the ocean. I would’ve loved the chance to flip the 3rd seats around to face out. Eitherway, we folded down both back rows, laid out a thick blanket, opened one of the sliding doors…enjoying the breeze and sounds.

  • AC Outlet (this put a smile on my face, electric cooler time)

  • Let the radio play, with the vehicle off, for as long as we want.

  • One Pedal

  • Attachment to repurpose floor anchors when removing the 3rd row. I would like to have an attachment so it can secure E-scooters.

These are not complaints, just little wishes for this fun little car!

Edit

  • Oh question, so with the front and rear rims being a different size, there’s no need to rotate these tires?

  • I noticed on the roof, if you don’t have a roof rack, you have 6 exposed bolts. I’m sure they are treated bolts to prevent corrosion but what kinda cover caps could I get?

  • Windshield Sunshade recommendations?

[Question For All] Tips? (Getting in and getting out)

Something I have not been able to get used to as of yet is how to get in and out of the van from the driver side and make it feel natural. How are y’all doing it?!? I would love to see video demonstrations 😂 jk

Good Vibes - NBD

That’s Good Vibes 👆 NBD as of 2 weeks ago today, and loving it! It feels like a hobby owning it 😂

I’m taking it in to the shop tomorrow, for tints. Sunday is back to the dealer (that 1yr/10k maintenance check). You guys in this subreddit make the whole experience that much more fun, honestly!

I was able to design the Good Vibes art. I got them printed on frost vinyl, gonna place them on the rear side windows. DM if you would like the PNG file for it…I assume reddits chat would allow me to send it to you 🤷‍♂️
