Hello I am currently knitting the Detroit Cardigan by Sara Ottoson and I am currently having trouble with the button holes! I’m reading the English version of the pattern.

For one, the button hole I’m knitting (over like 4 stitches?) is so tiny(1/3 an inch ), and I know the pattern calls for 1inch buttons.

And somehow when I try knitting these button holes, I’m going down 1 stitch in that section.

Does anyone here know what I might be doing wrong?

This is my first cardigan, and I feel like I already messed up by deciding to do color work and have the edges be in brown and the rest in green lol.

Is it really that bad to pre-wind yarn and leave it that way in your stash? I don't own a winder, and hand wind my yarn that comes in hanks. I kind of enjoy hand winding my yarn while watching  a show or something, but it takes so long! When I'm in a windy mood, I'm tempted to hand wind more than just the yarn I'm using for my next project, but I've heard that's bad to do. Is a hand wound ball, really that much worse than the ball that some yarns are sold in?
