Jackie Taylor shaming Natalie in season one
In season one of Yellowjackets Why do people defend Jackie in the scene where shes slut shaming Natalie? Ive seen alot of people say Jackie was correct in making rude comments towards Natalie because Natalie shouldve been paying attention to hunting rather then fooling around. However, its canon that Natalie and Travis were getting food and not just "fooling around". For example theres a scene where they have a notepad where theyve marked down the amount of kills theyve gotten the pad is filled with lines. Also, aside from that theres mutiple moments shown of them hunting. Jackie also only targerted Natalie in this scene demonstrating alot of internalized misgyony. If Jackie was truly upset and believed Natalie and Travis were both the reason they didnt have food dont you think she wouldve targerted them both instead of the women in the relationship? People mock Natalie for saying Jackie was jealous but deep down i think Jackie was jealous at the fact Natalie could so openly be herself without feeling shame. She likely also felt resentment that Natalie was playing such a big part in their survival while Jackie felt useless at the sidelines and was bad at many of the tasks in the wilderness. Jackie in the wilderness felt the social hierarchy changing and targerted someone who in normal society was usually more at the bottom. Later in the show Jackie also sleeps with Travis despite having shamed Natalie for it which is further hypocritcal. I dont hate Jackie and but i think this moment adds depth to Jackies character and explores how powerless she feels so its pretty aggrivating to see people dismiss it and defend her. I think im really starting to dislike Jackie as a character because of the constant infantilization she receives from the fandom. Her fans excuse all her wrongdoings and constantly preach she is just an angel. Am i the only one who feels this way?
