Abortion is healthcare
I've seen so many people arguing on Facebook lately about how they don't think abortion should be legal. When someone posted about a province in Canada now being able to self refer for abortions I commented, "that's amazing news!" Underneath n had a bunch of people being mean to me under that comment.
Mistakes happen, you're allowed to have an abortion if you had sex and for some reason the birth control didn't work.
You're allowed to have an abortion if you were sexually assaulted and don't want the child.
You're allowed to have an abortion if you're not mentally or physically prepared.
You're allowed to have an abortion if you're not financially stable.
You're allowed to have an abortion if it wouldn't be safe for you physically carry through with it.
You're allowed to have an abortion just because you don't want to be pregnant.
Having an abortion for any of these reasons IS taking responsibility. No it is not taking a life, the life hasn't started yet, you are not a murderer for it. You're allowed to opt out, and it's cruel that people try so hard to make you feel bad for it.
I've never had an abortion, I also don't have kids, but if I did ever end up pregnant by mistake somehow I would get one. Just because I haven't had one doesn't mean I can't be supportive to people who have. Being pregnant is mentally and physically taxing, you have no right to tell someone no, it's not your body.
