I really hate Sephiroth

Not just in Smash. The character over all. I feel he's always over hyped and always under delivers in everything he's in.

It's like I'm expected to make a big deal everytime he shows up and all I can muster is a "this fucking guy again."

I would have taken any other FF representatives over Sephiroth. Sadly I know there are multiple reasons why he got in. Not just fan popularity. It was probably easier to license a character from the same FF game and Sephiroth goes hand in hand with Cloud. Can't have one with out the other.

Why can't I not use the d pad for movement?

It's been a huge pet peeve of mine that smash doesn't allow you to map directional movements to the d-pad.

The simple plot of your OCs story?

Can you sum up your OCs story or purpose into one sentence?

Example for Abby and Lucy is "They attend a school that also works like the SCP but for eldritch creatures."

Competitive with items?

Fun mental exercise for you all. Obviously this is just a discussion and not an opinion.

Can you make a competitive ruleset that includes items. Which items will you include and which are excluded?

So Online competitive Smash should not work.

So played for a few hours yesterday with several characters and I was noticing just how clunky everything is.

From input lag, to just certain characters are nerfed with competitive rules.

Also expecting everyone online to play with the same competitive rules is also something that shouldn't happen.

The only real reason to play competitively on quickplay is because there is some what of a ranking system.

Is this really how competitive players practice and get prepared for actual tournaments?

Spice up your online with these rules.

So since items are very taboo online and if I play one more standard competitive match I was going to delete the game.

So to make things interesting and fun for myself I made a list of self imposed rules that only work with a competitive rule set. (2-3 stock, 5-7 min and FD or BF)

Sumo rules - No recoveries. If your opponent knocks you off the stage that's it.

Bowyer strikes - select a button, that button can not be pressed during the match.

Nothing fancy - Can not use your special moves

Oops all specials - Can only use your special moves.

Survival - You can not attack for the first minute of the match

One trick pony - Pick a move, you can only use that move for the match.

No repeats - Can't use the same move twice in a row.

So looking to make a male version of Lucy of Dunwich but can't think of a simple name to give them.

Name should be short and simple like Lucy, Lizzie, and Billie for examples.

What would be the gender opposite name for Lucy?

Every time I come back to Smash it's the same complaints for online over and over again.

If you even slightly deviate from the 7min 3stock rules they get pissy when they lose and say it shouldn't count because it was official competitive rules.

And I'm not talking just having stage hazards, items or FS.

I got screamed at because I luckily beat a Sephiroth but it was 2 stock 5 min. So I guess my win doesn't count? (This interaction started this whole rage)

Here is just as bad.

Seeing people admit to disconnecting because they are playing a match that isn't competitive or inside their comfort zones.

Getting so worked up over GSP and Elite like they mean something

Shunning and accusing other players for using cheesy tactics to GSP farm where probably the rule set up is probably what the opponent is comfortable with or finds the most fun.

Then they come here rage about it like they're the victim and in the right and because of the sub rules all they can see are comments that agree creating an echo chamber of confirmation. Thus solidifying that mentality of they were right.

Online isn't a tournament, it doesn't have competitive ruling in mind. It's not hard to play the matches you are dealt and suck it up.

I just don't get why Smash is this serious for people. It's just a silly game meant for everyone to enjoy. Sorry if you can't always enjoy every match you play but that's just life.
