Plan for a stupidly expensive minis board
So follow up to my previous post... after a bit of research, I present the...
Stupidly-Full-Of-Expensive-Minis-Just-Buy-An-Anagram... board.
But there may be some ideas in there for someone!
Note:
- main pedals are shown on the board, apart from the power block and DIm stick which would be slung underneath.
- then some possible alternatives around it, roughly next to the pedal they'd replace.
Chosen pedals on the board, alternatives around it.
Flow:
- Swiff Audio C20 Tuner
- Broughton HPF
- Pigtronix Philosopher Bass Compressor (wrong image shown)
- MXR Vintage Bass Octave
- Wampler Belle - always on warm OD
- One Control Hooker's Green Bass Machine - tube amp / transistor amp, OD, boost
- One Control Minimal Mosquito Expressio Blender - Effects loop
- Darkglass DFZ - Duality Fuzz
- TC Hall of Fame 2 - Reverb
- Malekko Phase V2 - V2 model can be configured for lower frequencies
- Donner Yellow Fall Delay - MXR Carbon Copy for half the price?
>Back to Mosquito
TC Ditto 2 Looper
MXR Thump Preamp/DI
Pedalnetics DIm Stick - 'cos the MXR Thump doesn't have a DI
Powered by an Effects Bakery Hoden Sentai Donuts, 10 x 200ma
Plus a Dunlop DVP4 Expression Pedal
Alternatives that are meant to work well with bass:
Compressors:
- Wampler Mini Ego 76
- Xotic SP
OD/Boosts:
- Xotic EP Booster (Janek mentioned having this as an always-on pedal slung under his board)
- Coppersound Gravity Bomb V2 - Boost with Burr Brown op-amp for a clean OD
- Aguilar DB316
Blender:
- The "expressio" allows you to add an expression pedal for the effects chain.
- There's a "trails" version, which swaps the expression pedal with allowing effects to persist when you switch it off, as you play your clean signal over the top.
Effects Loop...
- Coppersound Ion - space laser fuzz!
- Coppersound Renegade - two position bias switch for classic or modern fuzz
- Joyo Space Verb
- MXR Phase 95
- MXR Carbon Copy
Preamp:
Rather than the MXR Thump/Pedalnetics DIm Stick combo, you'd probably ditch the mini aesthetic and get a combined preamp/DI pedal, so Darkglass Element pictured, which also has a headphone socket.
Power:
Probably wouldn't use the Effects Bakery, as it'd be nice to have something with the option for 12v for some of the pedals.
Honorable mentions: (Not shown)
Electro-Harmonix Pico Intelligent Harmony Machine.
Casio DN-SE10 Dimension Shifter
- Uh, imagine an expression pedal in your guitar strap. Yep.
TC Mimiq Mini Doubler (shown)
- 'cos why play as if there's only one of you?
Electro-Harmonix - Pico Deep Freeze
- Freeze pedal for sustaining effects
