For anyone applying for remote jobs and getting nowhere
I’ve worked in recruitment for years and have helped a few people land remote roles recently.
Got some spare time, so happy to give a few pointers where I can. DMs are fine too.

As a recruiter, I’ve seen some people land interviews within a few weeks, while others say they’ve applied for hundreds of jobs with little to no response for 6+ months.
If you’re currently searching for remote work, what’s been your experience?

For those living abroad, are you working local jobs or remote?
How is everyone finding the remote job market right now?
I used to work in recruitment and have helped others find remote roles
Honestly most people aren’t that far off… they’re just missing a few things that matter way more than they think
Here’s common things I have seen:
- no clear results, just job duties on your resume
- zero effort to stand out beyond clicking apply
- applying too late, these roles get flooded fast
- poor layout for ATS filters
- resume looks like it could be for any job
- nothing that shows you can actually work remotely
- relying only on job boards
Remote jobs are competitive but it’s not impossible. most people just don’t realise how quickly they’re getting filtered out
If you’ve been applying and hearing nothing back, it’s usually one of these
Happy to take a look if anyone wants a second opinion on their resume or approach
