Should I get a masters in math?
^ As title states. I'm a rising 5th-year computer science and electrical engineering dual degree student. I want to move more into research, but take a short break from academia into industry. I've been pretty heavily considering doing a master's in math. I feel as if I get viewed in a very heavily engineering category, and I want to be viewed more as a thinker by picking up some theoretical skills. For those of you who work in research or R&D, do you think I would be more respected if I did a math master's, or should I just stick with my majors for graduate school? Assume GPA isn't an issue and that I fulfill the prerequisites for applying for these master's. I really enjoyed math and want to take more proof-based classes, but I also love my prospective majors. How does this help or hurt with PhD's?
