Volkswagen: possible sale of Ducati

The far-reaching reorganisation launched by Volkswagen is raising questions that extend well beyond Germany’s borders. Rumours suggest that Ducati may be sold off and that Lamborghini could be floated on the stock market.

Although operating in a motorcycle market that is now more complex, Ducati continues to be a brand of great value. Chief Executive Claudio Domenicali has repeatedly emphasised that the company is financially self-sufficient, capable of supporting investment and development without relying directly on its parent company. Despite the slowdown in turnover recorded in 2025 and a decline in profitability, the brand retains strong international appeal – a factor that could attract the interest of private equity funds and industrial groups should Volkswagen actually decide to sell the business.

Corte Olmo Lungo

Sarebbe piaciuta a Fellini 😇

Pianura Padana

I’m the one who goes on trips to the deepest, most rural parts of the Po Valley. Here I was in the province of Cremona, and the V7 performed brilliantly.
I’ve included a photo of the village of Gattarolo Cappellino because the name is quite a laugh in Italian.

Gattarolo: someone who loves cats, a cat hoarder
Cappellino: a small hat

A small cemetery in San Paolo Ripa d’Oglio, in northern Italy. I was struck by this gravestone, from which everything has vanished: name, photo, epitaphs

I must admit, I wasn’t familiar with Pale Fountains, and so I hadn’t heard of this album either. I picked it up because I was intrigued by the year (1983) and a quick Google search. I’m glad I bought it; I’ve already listened to it three times. In any case, it seems to have its own significance within the new wave scene.

What do you think?
