Hi all! Looking for advice as I adopted a female kitten (tortie) about 3 months ago who has been marking her territory via pee in the living room area, specifically on comforters, the lounger, and now our couch cushions. My partner already had an adult female Russian blue (~ 5yo). Both cats have been spayed and are cohabitating pretty well. We've caught the kitten do this a couple times with no clear reason to prompt the behavior so we are unsure what's going on. We’ve been using the enzyme spray along with a lot of washing but this isn't sustainable and need to know what else could be the trigger.

- We have 3 litters in our garage which they can access via a cat door and I have not noticed any troubles there.

- We do have other cats that sit in our backyard area that you could see through the windows. We let the adult cat out but the kitten is too young to be out there, especially without supervision since we live near a forest. The little one really wants to go out so I am considering getting a harness to start out her outdoor experience.

- No indication of a UTI but I have not taken her to the vet in the last month but the last time we went to get her 2nd shots and they said she's a happy and healthy lady.

Any advice is appreciated!

Would you say this is playing or fighting?

context: I adopted a new female kitten (tortie) about 3 months ago. My partner already had an adult female Russian blue (~ 5yo). Both cats have been spayed. Integrating them was a little rough and took about 2 months. We’re at the point of cohabitation. If they are interacting it’s either feeding time, napping near each other, or grooming each other which results in the above type of play fight. In some of these situations the adult doesn’t want to interact with little tortie and sometimes tries to run away and will hiss.

I’m curious to know what yall think as we are also having issues with our tortie kitten peeing (assuming marking territory) on some comforters and our lounger. We’ve been doing the enzyme spray but there’s been a lot of laundry going on in our home and need to know if the stressor is the 2 cat’s relationship. Any advice is appreciated!
