46M considering TRT – looking for real-world experiences

I’m a 46-year-old male, short and relatively stocky. I used to be morbidly obese (118 kg) and I’ve brought that down to 88 kg so far, still working on it.

I’m currently on Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) — partly for weight loss but also because I believe in the longer-term cardiometabolic benefits. My plan is to stay on a low (micro) dose long term for maintenance.

Testosterone-wise: • Total T: 14.9 nmol/L (~430 ng/dL) • Haven’t checked free T, SHBG, etc yet

Symptoms: • General lethargy (not severe) • Noticeable drop in libido • Erections are still fine, just less interest overall

I experimented briefly with testosterone: • Took 2 doses (~60 mg each over 2 weeks) • Honestly felt great during that period • Trained 6x/week (very unlike me) • Energy and motivation noticeably better • Stopped after reading more about suppression / long-term commitment

Above could all be placebo

Current goals: • Not looking to get jacked • Want to be leaner, healthier, and focus on longevity • Family complete, so fertility isn’t a concern

My question to the community:

👉 For guys who started TRT in their mid-40s with similar “low-normal” levels — especially those thinking long-term health rather than bodybuilding — • Are you happy you started? • How do you feel about being on it long-term / potentially for life? • Any regrets? • Did it meaningfully improve libido/energy in a sustained way?

Would really value honest, long-term perspectives rather than short-term honeymoon phase takes.
