In Canada, the fast-food chain Tim horton’s has the smile cookie events where they sell cookies for a charity of their choice. The cookies have a smiley face drawn on them with frosting. Since they sell a lot of those sometimes the frosting is a bit (or horribly) off and it is one of the many Canadian little pleasures to share their not so smiley cookies online.

Well some people take offense of that playful contest of the worst looking cookie. Some location sometimes invites people of the chosen charity to decorate some of the cookies. So some people are offended that we laugh at a cookie that MIGHT have been decorated by a child or an elderly person or a disabled person, etc. The ugly cookie was most likely made by a minimum wage worker who didn’t have time (or didn’t care) to make a recognizable face but some people choose to feel offended just because of the hypothetical possibility that it might be made by a person in need.
