wax or no wax?

im day 4 of new braces and its really just tearing up my lips/mouth/cheeks, its like a mix of really soft slow healing tissue and sensory issues.. its so bad anyway i've seen a bunch of comments saying to just layer dental wax on, sleep in it whatever you need to get thru it and a bunch of other comments saying to only use it when you need it so your lips/mouth/cheeks can heal or get tougher and like build up so I wanted to ask in one post what the general consensus is? im sort of dying from ulcers but in a chill way lol

hello! im not sure how to phrase this in the most readable way so bare with me.

i've lost a lot of weight so far, from 255 pounds to around 176 pounds (at 5'6). Something i'm noticing with friends and family who are very close but only see me a couple of times a month or so in person is that they will react more strongly to a weightloss that the scale says is like 3 pounds then they would have to me losing like 10 pounds when i was in the higher 240s etc. When i type it out it does make sense, just having more weight to lose and all, but when you actually live it it's so jarring.

friends jokingly telling me i am shrinking or i have halfed since they last saw me or family asking me to not lose anymore weight when i have lost like three pounds or the scale is reading an extra 5 pounds of water weight since the last time i saw them. just such whiplash, i feel like i havent realised that like what 3 pounds is to my body now is kind of different to what it was then? it all just feels so strange :/
