iPad Pro M5 getting too warm?
Just bought a brand new base model iPad Pro M5 11 inch and I’m probably overthinking this because it was expensive as hell, but I wanted to ask other owners.
Even with relatively light usage, it sometimes gets noticeably warm on the back. For example:
- a few basic apps/tabs open in the background (Notes, ChatGPT, Settings, Photos, Safari and like a basic painting app)
- sometimes a very light game like Subway Surfers left open
- then watching YouTube videos at like 1440p or 4k
It’s not burning hot at all — more like the kind of warmth you’d feel when someone has a slight fever / warm forehead.
I live in Japan and the temperature here is pretty chill right now, and I’m not doing this at max brightness, charging it while using it, gaming heavily, or anything extreme etc.
Is this normal for the M5 iPad Pro because of how thin it is / how it dissipates heat, or should I be concerned?
I know it’s supposed to get pretty warm when playing graphically intense stuff like Fortnite which I have tried and gets pretty hot.
Anyways, would appreciate hearing from other M5 owners. Thanks
EDIT: GUYS I JUST WENT CRAZY, MY THERMALS ARE NORMAL. I RAN GEEKBENCH 6 AND 3DMark at 70% battery charge and like 60-70 percent brightness and got proper results
