Hello all,

I'm making a crinkly cotton fabric receiving blanket for my new niece coming in June. The blanket itself is just a single layer of fabric (perfect for swaddling!), and all edges are hemmed. I wanted to attach this beige colored lace trim to the two short sides of it to add some extra cuteness.

However, I'm stumped on the best way to do that. There is technically a "front" and "back" side to the blanket, i.e. the hems are turned to one side and that side doesn't have the gold designs on it, so that's clearly the back. But I still don't love the idea of sewing the lace on one side and favoring it over the other.

So... is there a way to sew the lace directly onto the edge of the blanket fabric? So it's sitting edge to edge with the blanket? I will be hand sewing and I'm pretty experienced so I could make it strong and neat. I'm just blanking on what stitch to even try.

in the photo you can see the lace lying along the edge it goes on, plus the blanket flipped so you can see both sides.

Thank you so much for any ideas!

Hi all! I live in a neighborhood that is kind of close to the neighborhoods of Como, Roseville, and Falcon Heights all at the same time.

I've been debating getting into roller skating or roller blading because I'm bored with all of my fitness routines and need something fun (I'm also a 45 year-old woman and fairly clumsy, so if this is the horrible idea I suspect it is, don't be afraid to tell me).

Does anyone know of a roller rink/venue anywhere near me, or within driving distance, at least? Bonus points if they rent skates, but okay if not.

City or county recreation centers are more than fine, areas that aren't strictly built for rinks but used as rinks sometimes, I'll take anything! I see nothing when I search online.

Thank you!
