Reject modernity, embrace tradition

I paid $130 for a new HP Reverb G2 - unbelievable value, and it’s not bad at all compared to modern headsets. For a moment, I bought a Pico 4 Ultra for a tiny bit more than a Quest 3S (incredible value too), but I decided to return it. The stock face interface was horrendous, even though generally its comfort was nice once that was replaced. But even though its pixel density was pretty high, its subpixel layout is pretty noticeable (maybe pancake lenses are a bit too clear, lol).

With the Reverb G2, the sweet spot is smaller, but that’s not always a bad thing; the Pico 4 gave me a bit too much freedom (sometimes I felt something was off, but the image was pretty clear). The G2 forces you to keep the headset in the position you're supposed to. It’s pretty comfortable out of the box (however, for me, synthetic leather is far superior to fabric, but it is what it is). The FOV is worse, but for a quarter of the price, it’s not terrible.

The tracking was great honestly, even when it's lost, it can still tell its orientation, so it isn't that distracting. If you cover one controller with another, you have to perfectly block its tracking ring, which rarely happens unintentionally.

You should avoid upgrading to iPadOS 27 beta if you rely on Apple Pencil Pro, and prolly Apple Pencil 2gen

Hover and pressure sensitivity are not functioning as intended. I briefly restored them by resetting my device (General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset), but the improvement did not last long.

Apple Pencil Pro pressure sensitivity and hover stopped working.

I hadn’t used my pencil for a while; a few days ago I removed it from its magnetic charging spot and placed it back, finding it at 0% charge. I didn’t think much of it, but today I wanted to use it in Procreate and couldn’t get it to function at all even though it showed a full charge (nothing pressure related works). I’m on iOS 27 beta, so perhaps that’s related, but I’m concerned it might not be. A short demonstration video shows how it behaves in Sketchbook, where it at least registered something.

Steam Deck Oled vs Legion Go S

Hi, I’m recently looking into getting a handheld and these are the two options I'm considering.
Personally, the Steam Deck seems like a better choice for my use case, but I would still love to hear some of your thoughts.

Steam Deck:

I really like the fact that the Steam Deck has touchpads. I’ve always been a PC user and I generally despise game controllers (they're decent for some games, but not for most of what I play). I feel like having the option to switch from a joystick to a touchpad for precise aiming (I know it’s not that precise, but anything is better than a joystick with massive deadzones) would be huge. However, I've seen many people call them a gimmick and say they don't really use them.

I’m not really looking to play highly demanding games. Recently, I started playing Gnosia (a visual novel, but not really) it’s obviously perfect for a controller. But I’m also looking to play games like The Long Dark, where being able to pick up items quickly using the trackpad would be nice. I'm also looking forward to playing smaller indie games that I wouldn’t really bother booting up my PC for.

I really like the repairability of the Deck and its internal component layout.

Legion Go S:

PERFORMANCE - Yeah, it’s much better. However, I’m not really into AAA games. If I wanted to play something more demanding, it would probably be Subnautica 2 or Helldivers 2, both of which I’d prefer to play on my PC anyway. So, I’m not sure if the extra power is that important to me.

The bigger, higher-resolution screen is a nice bonus. My eyesight is a bit defective not by much, but I’m worried that on the Steam Deck's smaller screen, I might be forced to wear my glasses.

A few general questions for you guys:

  1. How useful are the touchpads on the Steam Deck in reality?

  2. Is the touchpad on the Legion Go S really that garbage?

  3. How do they compare in terms of comfort?

  4. What about longevity/build quality over time?

  5. Is UI scaling an issue (menus, text size, etc.) on these screens?

K2 Black Panther ceramic armor layout

I was bored and dug through some Korean K2 blogs, so I drew this up. It should be more or less accurate. There are also thinner ceramics protecting the ammo compartment, but they're pretty thin, mostly just against small arms and HMGs.

The bug report system is a joke. Let's protest.

Anyone who has ever encountered Gaijin's bug report system or tried to improve the game by submitting suggestions knows how inefficient it is. Even after being accepted, problems are often ignored or completely dismissed later on, while the mods have become increasingly ignorant and sometimes straight-up toxic.

I propose a protest. The idea is to flood them with nonsensical reports following the mods' own logic: "We know the upgrade was planned, but did they even do it?"

Using that exact logic, we should question the stats of currently implemented vehicles. For example: "We have no idea if the T-90M with Arena actually had a functional system. They planned it, but there aren't enough sources. Maybe it’s just for looks, or maybe they just thought „Arena” sounded like a cool name."

The more nonsensical, the better. The point is to make it clear that we are doing this on purpose to make a statement, not because we are just dummies.
