Ranch Dressing?

I would like to make my own ranch dressing mix. I've done it in the past, but ran out and just never got back to it. My question is around hydrating it to use as a dressing. Usually it requires mayo and buttermilk. How/for which would I substitute plain Greek yogurt? Could I use the yogurt, some non-fat milk (lactose free) and maybe lemon juice? I'm going to make up the mix regardless, but exploring options for making the dressing. I'm the only one who uses it, my husband doesn't care for ranch, but it works on top of tacos/Mexican chicken/fajitas and of course salad.

As promised - my Jane Austen quilt

https://preview.redd.it/u4f3iceetw1h1.jpg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c83c4afa71e5c04a3db1393de8d52888a99a088

I bought the yellow fabric in Bath, England in 2024. The house is Jane's house and I wanted a pattern that showcased it. I figured out using an acrylic template to free motion the yellow strips, but just did regular free motion for the other blocks. Don't zoom in too closely to see all the mistakes 😉. But I'm pleased over-all with it! Next up is matching placemats and a table runner, as this will hang in the hall, especially when I host my quarterly teas!

Thank you Thank you!

To those of you who helped me out with the nesting issue, my humblest thanks. Pulling the threads up help enormously! Now to the tedious part of burying my threads. I never did that before, just went back and forth a couple of times, but that was with echo or straight line quilting.

Next question. If you have a border of 3", do you quilt the border? I'm doing a flange binding, if that changes your opinion. I'm leaning towards no, especially since this quilt will mostly be hanging and not get regular use, nor will it be washed regularly.

Oh, and a free motion ruler and corresponding presser foot - GAME CHANGER. If only I had gotten it before I did the rest of the quilt! I'm not about to un-sew all the other work I've done, but for my next quilt, trust me, this will be the go-to. Now to head to the quilt store/sewing machine shop and see what other rulers they happen to have 😄.

Considering a trip to Budapest but would like to see more of Europe

We are planning a trip to Budapest next year. My grandmother was born near there, and I’d love to see the land of her birth. My husband’s family comes from Poland. We would take about 3 weeks, and would love to be able to see some of the highlights. What would be a reasonable itinerary? We are thinking Budapest (3-4 days), Poland (3 days, not sure where though), Austria - Vienna and Salzburg (2 days each?) Munich or Nuremberg which is where we return home from. I know we are barely scratching the surface, and depending on what we find out, perhaps staying longer in one or two places might be a better idea.

We pulled off a UK trip on our own, is that possible in these cities? We have a friend who’s daughter lives in Budapest, and he said he would definitely work with us to see if she or some of her friends would be willing to give us a tour of the city. But the rest of the cities, we would be on our own. We have Rick Steve’s Central Europe guide and will be reading it for ideas as well.

As the title indicates, I've noticed while I'm eating, I start to get dizzy and it is lasting much longer. I'm kind of used to this, as my cardiologist said that it's not uncommon in people of a certain age *cough* 70 this year *cough* to have vasovagal responses after a meal. My question is why am I getting dizzy when I'm not even done eating?

Could this be related to the mitral valve prolapse I was dx with last year? I'm getting other symptoms as well - heaviness in my legs, dizzy a lot more frequently, breathless when I try to work out. Even walking 1/2 mile has left me breathless. Oh, and up until March I was in very good shape - 3 mile walks 3x a week at 3mph, functional fitness training 3x a week lifting heavy, 80# kettlebell deadlifts are easy for me, I've got a PR of 125 barbell deadlift and was working on increasing that when all this started. Now I can't lift anything without nearly passing out. Don't even ask me to do anything that causes me to move my head quickly or below my waist. I was working with a PT for vertigo, but she suspended it due to the other issues.

My doctor started me on Lasix a week ago, which helps with the heaviness in my legs, but I'm still short of breath and dizzy and have very little energy, napping frequently, which is something I've NEVER done! I know Lasix can cause dizziness, so I'm pretty much prepared for that in the morning after I take it, but this dizziness has progressed to the point that I'm experiencing it a lot more frequently, and yesterday it was accompanied a bit by the "cloud" that happens shortly before you pass out while I was in the middle of dinner. Fortunately, that sensation only lasted a couple of seconds.

I have an echo scheduled for Wednesday. All of this started about 10 weeks after I had Covid and bronchitis. I'm sure there is a connection. My valve issue was classified mild>moderate, with an EF of 50-55%, I know there's another number I should be concerned with, but I don't recall what it is.

This is the part I absolutely hate. I have a pounce chalk pad, quilters pencils, chalk. I think i have tried everything and can’t find anything that works and that will wash out!!! I don’t want to use a pencil because that is a pain to wash out. What next??? Here’s the quilt- so you can see my issue with getting something that will work.
