Why do Pixel Art Games Often Have Non-Pixel Art Cover Images?

I'm noticing that a lot of games on Steam tend to have high resolution cover images, even though the games themselves use pixel art. Some examples include Celeste, Omori (I think), and Dewdrop Dynasty. Why? Does this help with visibility somehow?

3D model I made of the Roaring Knight from DELTARUNE in Blender

I recently got back into Blender and tried making a model of the Roaring Knight from DELTARUNE. I made two poses and backgrounds, and did some compositing to add the glow and outline effect. It took me about 1 hour and I think it looks okay.
