Nod to FLCL in False Memory?

False Memory just aired and is supposed to be heavily inspired by FLCL, so of course after watching the first episodes of False Memory I had to go watch FLCL season 1. (First time watching it, incredible show!)

Noticed this tiny reference or perhaps pure coincidence in the False Memory short film / prologue and S01E05 of FLCL. Hopefully there are more to come!

Louis Litt's Character Arc - First Time Watcher

First time watcher here, I'm about halfway through season 8 and still absolutely LOVING IT

Did my best to mark out the spoilers for any first time watchers, but there are still mild ones about the general character arc Mr. Louis Litt

When I first started watching, I googled something along the lines of "I hate Louis Suits" to see what other people thought... I found a post here on Reddit from some other first time watcher saying the same, and a comment read something along the lines of "You'll hate him. Then you'll love to hate him. Then you'll just love him.

I thought "no way, this guy is a total cock, the antagonist of this show, and there is no way I will ever like this little rat". Damn was I wrong. I have loved to hate him for multiple seasons now, but I think Season 7 or 8 was when I started to really just love him. I almost feel protective of him - everything that happened with >!him and Tara, it broke my heart for him. The on-screen introduction of Dr. Lipschitz and the peeks at what they talk about at Therapy showed me just how much pain he was in and the baggage he had that led to him behaving how he does / did!<

Season 8 Episode 6, >!Harvey goes to see Dr. Lipschitz and works out that he is envious of Louis and subconsciously worried about losing him. I'm not sure I have ever been so happy for a character as I was for Louis when Harvey went to go and apologize / tell him he was envious!<

I just watched Season 8 Episode 7 >!when Sheila has the false positive pregnancy and they fight about whether they will raise the baby Catholic or Jewish or neither!<I feel like he has grown so much in how he communicates and how he is willing to put others first or admit he is wrong. He reaches the "healthy" conclusion sooooo much faster than he did in early seasons (if he ever reached that conclusion at all lmfao)

All in all great writing, I was worried about how I would feel about the show after >!Mike and Rachel left it!<but these Harvey / Donna / Louis / >!Zane / Samantha / Alex!<storylines are really keeping me hooked

P.S. Still not sick of hearing "Greenback Boogie"

Transmute v2.0.0 - Compressions, 3d model formats, and more!

A few months ago I shared Transmute here, a new open-source, self-hosted file converter.

Transmute is built API-first for automation and integration with other self-hosted tools. Self-hosted converters like ConvertX and Vert.sh already exist, and they’re both solid and more mature than Transmute. If you are happy with those tools or cloud file converters you can stop reading, it won't hurt my feelings <3

To me though those tools still feel a bit clunky or rough around the edges. I wanted to host something with a polished UI, something closer to the cloud converters I was used to, while also offering an API for automation and integration with my existing workflows.

What's New in v2?

The biggest change is the most requested feature so far: compression.

Until now, Transmute has mainly been about converting file type X into file type Y, with some control over output quality. With v2, you can now upload supported PDFs, images, videos, audio files, or GIFs and simply compress them instead, trading some quality for a smaller file size.

This is useful for things like passport photo upload limits, reducing PDF storage size, shrinking videos before sharing, or just generally making files smaller without sending them to a random online compressor.

v2 also adds support for several 2D/3D model formats, including STL, OBJ, DXF, and more.

Transmute just hit 1k stars on GitHub, we've got 25 contributors, and it's also now deployable via PikaPods!
