Shout out to my parents for forcing that absolutely hideous avgn look on me my entire childhood so I had zero self esteem and felt like a monster.

Started playing DFU after running the DOS version for a while. Enjoying it. One small issue I've been having though is the dungeon automap is excessively laggy, like sub-10 fps at 1080p while the actual game outside of the map runs at perfect 60 fps capped, no drops. It makes dungeoning a little tedious since panning a 3D automap at 10 fps is not too great.
I looked online and saw people mentioning this issue from years ago, they suggested turning off dungeon shadows and it doesnt seem to have any effect for me. Is this not fixable? If not, I use the chalk mod so its not too terrible of a problem but it's still annoying.
Having a good time playing DF. I played the DOS version before and I like the controlls in DFU, but one problem I've been having is whenever I open the automap my framerate seems to tank to 10 or below at 1080p. Does anyone else have this issue? Everything else runs perfect at max framerate until I open the map.
I have no mods installed. I noticed that reducing the game resolution to lower values improves it, but not by much and I would like to keep 1080p fullscreen if I can. What could be the cause of this?
