Please help me identify my dogs skin condition
Hello, my dog is a mutt(not sure if breed matters) but as of the last three or so months he has had a lack of appetite(we feed him pedigree kibble…) and has had bad diarrhea. He used to not have any problems eating and skin issues. Just recently have we noticed that he’s been really itchy and has super flaky skin. It’s everywhere on his body except his head. We assumed he stopped eating as much food because he’s not a puppy anymore(3 years old or so now). Please help me identify because my family refuses to take him to the vet. My heart hurts for him but I don’t even know where to start because I don’t know what’s wrong with his skin. I can’t upload an image but my dog is short medium length hair, like a chihuahua kind of? But the skin is sooo flakey. It’s like yellow chunky flakes, rather than small specks. It’s a pale yellow orange ish color and is quite large. My dog lives in the Bay Area in california. He’s been adapted to the climate all his life.
